Description: Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.

Compared to slightly less expensive fixed price menus in high end New York restaurants, Jean George's is four sublime courses where each bite is memorable. The fois gras first dish was overthe moon and sea urchin delicious. Suckling pig was amazing and every other bite one to savor. Especially coming as we do from California, three different presentations of fois... More

This is an attractive dining room but we were placed in a side booth so could not really appreciate the room. Not only that but another table was placed so close to us that the staff had difficulty getting to us and the second couple to occupy the table felt so close that they decided to talk to us! Food... Arrived early on a rainy day with no reservation. Was received with no issues although I had no jacket and looked rugged. Started off with a parsnip and coconut soup which was good, followed by tenderloin in misu for entree. This was good, meat was perfectly roasted, and the puree silky, but the tastes were not completely balanced as the... More

Snooty staff, poor spacing between tables, overcrowded, dining room way too hot (but don't you DARE remove your jacket sir) no refinement to the food. Can't see how this is maintaining 3 stars.

Friends told us about the two plate lunch for $38. We told our friends that it may have been the best meal we ever had. The service was friendly not snooty. The setting and decor are beautiful. The fresh bread and appetizers were amazing. Then we had to try dessert - wow! Highly recommend.

A friend gave me the tip to book a lunch @ jean georges , and boy was this worth it ! We had a 2 course 2* menu for less than 40dollars. Service was excellent, the decor light and classy. We had a round table witch was very cosy. The wine list ranged from 35 to unspeakable prices so options for... More

We ate here on Thursday March 20. My husband and I both had the $118 3-course menu with the total bill coming to $375. I enjoyed the meal the first time, but not so much at 2:30 a.m. when I threw the whole thing up. Before you ask, I felt fine before we left and had one drink there. I... More

A meal for four rarely means everyone is satisfied with everything ... we were. We were looked after by Amy who gave us excellent above on our food choices as well as the wines. The food was stunning, both to look at and to eat. A wonderful place for a special occasion.

I loved everything about the food at Jean Georges, and the servers were great. I had the Butternut Squash soup as a starter (which was great), and truffles were offered as part of an appetizer. Seriously some of the best food I've ever eaten, and I haven't even gotten to the main course. I ordered organic, lightly breaded chicken, which... More

Perfect in every way. The room is light and airy, the staff polite and welcoming and the food faultless. Amazing bread, silky amuse bouche of cauliflower velouté, luxurious starters of foie gras with cherry and a langoustine broth. The Iberico pork main had the best crackling I've ever eaten and though my wife is rarely rendered speechless, she was so... More
