Description: Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.

This was a thirtieth wedding anniversary treat and it met all expectations. Terrific service, private booth, personalised cake (without asking or warning the staff), excellent food and some lovely touches. Yes it is expensive but truly memorable and worth every cent. As a visitor to New York we wanted something to remember and certainly had it. Thank you for such... More

We visited Jean George for lunch with our 12 year old son. We each enjoyed the various tasting course items. I require vegetarian and gluten free items and they were able to accommodate me deliciously. We have eaten at many great restaurants around the world and my husband and I agree this was among the very best. Delicious blend of... More

The dining room is so pretty, the service is so polished and yet warm and friendly, and the food above even our high expectations. I forgot myself in bliss. I told my wife this was a vision of heaven, to have course after course after course without ever getting full and without ever getting drunk. Inventive, classic, subtle, powerful. It's... More

We only went because out of town relatives wanted to. We still laugh about the waiter saying " Jean George recommends eating this with a spoon". The food was good but not memorable. The bill for four of us was $500.00. I don't need it. Period.

We recently had lunch at Jean Georges and had a great time. The staff were nice, welcoming and personable. They were completely aware of what was happening around them and immediately picked up on it when i wasn't getting on too great with my starter, and turned the experience around for me. The starter of yellowfin tuna ribbons was memorable... More

Jean Georges is a 3 Michelin rosette restaurant and proud of that fact - as they should be. So when I judge a restaurant at that level I use a standard that would be unfair to lesser rated restaurants but which does reflect the highest levels, those that are expected of a 3 rosette establishment. Judged against that standard, Jean... More

Foolish as we are we made the rounds of several noteworthy restaurants over just a few days. Jean Georges might be a peg or two under Per Se if $ is no object or care. However, Jean Georges is spectacular in every respect and more affordable. Nevertheless, the mood @ Jean Georges' is somewhat more relaxed and the diners are... More
