Description: Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.

Our experience at the restaurant 10 days ago was overall great. The service was excellent and the sommelier David quite helpful. But we both felt the food we were served was not warm enough and surprisingly on cold plate. It is unworthy for a restaurant with your reputation. Andree from Ottawa,Canada

We were lucky to get seats at this high end bar. Once occupied, we did not move. Endless nibbles accompanied a good beer selection and Aussie Shiraz. The drinks were not cheap and I fail to understand the need for a " taste " of wine. Just pour a glass! Great place to watch the rich folk at play.

AMAZING...AMAZING...AMAZING..AMAZING!!! Oh wait, did I say AMAZING!! Dining at Jean-Georges was the most incredible dining experience I've ever had in my life. The experience the staff provides for this dining experience would be like going to see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. Minus the leg kicks!! ;) I had the Yellowfin Tuna Ribbons, Miyazaki Wagyu Beef Tenderloin which... More

We´ve been there while travelling around the city once with my boyfriend. They treat us very well and super polite. The five course meal was great, although the portions were a little bit small and the plates too big, if you know what I mean. We´ve had some delicious deserts and coffee was also very good and tasty, rare for... More

Wow! what a treat! Everything is wonderful! The food, the service, the ambiance---pretty perfect. It isn't cheap, but well worth it, and there is a prix fixe menu which I tried, and you can choose the size of courses, and the price is according to the amount of courses one chooses, and whether you want the wine pairing. The regular... More

Jean George was the first 3 Michelin Star for my 12 year old and our soux chef son. The expectations were high, and JG blew us away. I watched the revelations come across the kids faces during this meal. Chemistry, art, and unbelievable service at its finest. Our daughter still thinks there was a hidden camera at our table because... More

Don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to tonight. We have eaten at JG seven times, and tonight was really lousy. Cold pretzel bread (which is usually great), lousy scallops, cold risotto, etc. The staff seemed off as well and was not helpful at all with the meal as they saw we were not really pleased, and it just... All of our NYC visits include lunch at Jean George. Seems that they keep getting better. I had the yellow tuna ribbon which our waiter confessed was one of her favoites. The quality of the fish is superior. It was followed by the sweetbreads in a mouth watering brown sauce.. My wife had a unique truffled ceaser salad which she... More
