Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.

I love the food at Jean Georges. I have gone there a couple of times and it never disappoints. The only thing is that you have to make reservations to make sure you eat in the restaurant and not the lounge or you get a different menu.

Lunch is of course a time where you will get the best deal without compromising on the service and the quality of what is served. From the reception to being seated, you feel like royalty. Smiles and rigueur can go hand in hand, and it does at Jean George. Mise en bouche are as fantastic and precise as will be... More

Back to the JG for Easter dinner where we were accommodated in their "prime time" (8:45 p.m.). Upon checking back, we were confirmed that our dining experience would be unrushed -- which was not true since we were presented the check without having yet asked for it (an absolute no-no for a French-style restaurant) and litterally escorted out of the... I travel the world and eat at wonderful restaurants all the time. This is possibly my favorite fine dining experience ever. This inlcudes Noma, "the best restaurant in the world" and many others in that range. The food was delightful. Nothing weird like some inventive chef with something to prove yet everything was innovative and fresh in preparation and presentation.... More

One of New York City's finest restaurants. Elegant setting in the bar and dining room. Ideal for special occasions or just a quiet dinner for 4. The food is exceptional. Worth everyone of its mIchelin stars.

All four of us ( 3 of whom are real foodies) had an absolutely wonderful evening here. We opted to sit in the less formal area and while a little noisy, really enjoyed ourselves. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was imaginative and beautifully prepared. Flawless presentation too. This restaurant really delivers and while pricey, it is worth... More
