Description: Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.

My husband and I went here for special celebration. Every dish in the tasting menu was amazing...inventive without being weird. The service was helpful and attentive. The sommelier also very helpful, and the wine excellent. The room has a beautiful view and a nice, open feel. The price is steep, but if you are looking for a place for a... More

I expected so much more from a Michelin *** and a top rating from Zagats. To be fair, the staff is terrific. Couldn't be nicer and more accommodating. It's the food that is the problem. Some dishes were good. Some were completely disappointing. In the good category, the caviar on potatoes and tapioca and the mushroom soup. After that, down... More

My wife and I had the tasting menu, I also did the wine pairings. We also added the supplemental truffle pasta (maybe our favorite course). The service was excellent, very well orchestrated. Food was very good, not the best meal I have ever had (Joel Roubouchon Las Vegas), but very good. We really enjoyed the experience. Would definitely go back.

recently had lunch at Jean Georges, the food was outstanding, service was a bit staged, we had cocktails before lunch then a nice bottle of white wine paired with the food, however, when the first course arrived, our wine glasses were still emptied, the people who brought the food to table notice the glasses were emptied, but they could not... We love this place. I've eaten there a few times for lunch. Waitors are knowledgeable, food is excellent. The scallops, snapper, and the chocolate dessert are all highly recommended. Considering it is fine dining, the lunch menu is actually quite good value, and unlike many other high end restaurants I wasn't actually still hungry when leaving! Every time we're in... More

We did the three course meal before shows. Everthing was delicious and so different. The menu was very diverse, the wine list had great options, and the service was excellent. Very friendly and helpful on selecting courses. We will be back!

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Jean Georges today. The service is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is elegant. We ordered the Autumn tasting menu and were not disappointed. Each of the amuse bouche and 5 courses were delicious. A great way to spend a leisurely afternoon post shopping in NYC.

A friend and I were visiting NY and, on the recommendation of a friend, decided to try Jean Georges. We had the tasting menu and accompanying wines. I have to say the food was delicious and well executed apart from the skate which was overcooked (!). It's a very classical approach to food and I think some of my disappointment... More

Let me set the scene , during the best culinary week of my life (Le Bernardin , Asiate , Bohemian , Juni) we had left Jean George until our final day in NY. For some strange reason I had low expectations ?? Maybe because of how good our food food had been all week or perhaps as Jean George is... More

Our visit to Jean-George's on a rainy fall night was met with warm and friendly staff , approachable and not at all stuffy. We did not set many expectations for this experience and allowed ourselves to be impressed as the night progressed. This is modern fusion French fare with all the right notes we love about fine French cuisine but... More
