Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.

Brilliant food in perfect surroundings

The location is ideal, on the corner of Central Park. Greeted by very professional staff and escorted through the the bar area to a very light and welcoming dining room. The meal was superb, some of the best food I have eaten. I had the Seabass and the Hake. The Seabass is superb, I have never... read more

After having the most perfect meal in my existence on this earth at Le Bernardin the night before which was also a Michelin 3 star restaurant I was shocked to find this place was worse than a restaurant chain and was over $500 bucks for 2 people. We ordered the Chef Vongerichten's assortment of signature dishes as it looked like... More

Some people might be put off by a three michelin star restaurant and think it is too stuffy and formal but my experience of the Jean Georges was the complete opposite. The restaurant is light and airy, very tastefully decorated with plenty of space between tables. The staff were friendly, attentive and discreet. They made us feel very relaxed and... More

Very enjoyable lunch before flying back to Sydney. Booked via Open Table. The restaurant is beautifully located across Central Park on Columbus Circle. We had a spring tasting 6-course lunch with caviar, Tasmanian salmon on rice bread. The asparagus with local morels only found in spring with a creamy sauce was heavenly. The desert incorporated different rhubarb tastings such as... More

When booking a place like Jean Georges, it is easy to wonder if the experience is really going to match the bill. As one who loves food and has had many experiences at top-notch restaurants, spending this kind of money is a special occasion but has rarely disappointed. With all of that as context, Jean Georges is perfection. If you... More

Despite short notice, managed to get a place at this well known restauarnt in Trump Tower. Sadly the wigged one was not in attendance. We sat looking into central park. Staff were attentive and they seemed to create much of the meal at the table. Very impressive. The dishes were excellent- my squab was the best ever (it was my... More

Having eaten at equivalently priced and rated restaurants for many years we had high expectations for an exquisite night at Jean Georges in NYC. We arrived and were shown to a small table in a bald square room with little character. Not deterred we studied the menu and selected a tasting menu of seven courses. We should have left after... Excellent restaurant, remember to wear a jacket. But, if you don't they have an annex room where they put you. Proper fine dining, excellent variety in their fixed menus, and a large variety of drinks. Staff are super good and they bring and take away everyone's plates at the same time with three four waiters together. Really enjoyed ourselves.

We came here for lunch today, having been fortunate to get a reservation after calling up in the morning. The food was very good but the service seemed somehow to be lacking in soul with many of the staff appearing to be suffering from depression. Of course it's a top end restaurant, but the level of formality and the attitude... More
