Description: Small, intimate place. Run by real Italians, which shows up in the food. The place isn't particularly flashy - I feel as if many people probably pass it by, but inside past the bar it's nice and cozy with brick walls and little Italian signs here and there. Cute place and the prices are fair and the food is really good. Of note is the brick oven pizza -The service is very friendly and generally pretty snappy. The Backyard is now open. Buon Appetito !

Great Italian in NYC is abundant but this is a +1 on the scale. We had three of their signature dishes and one appetizer recommended by our table captain and each was outstanding. The Carpaccio ap was great. The three mains were 1) Lobster ravioli, 2) Spicy Rigatoni Vodka 3) Veal parm...the place is expensive and wines less than $75... More

The staff is so knowledgeable about food and wine. We based our wine and dinner on their recommendations. It was one of the best meals in NYC.

First five "star" review and this place is worth it. First the quirk(s): the music is fifties rock and roll. Here's a restaurant that has gone out of its way to make you feel like you're in a high end trattoria in Florence and the music is Alan Freed at the Brooklyn Paramount. Ok; that's out of the way. The... More

When you dine at Carbone's, you feel like you are dining in a fine restaurant in Italy. While we only got to try their prosciutto and melon, their meatballls and their delicious pastas, it is one of the very best Italian restaurants that I have ever been in. Their service is also excellent. Well worth the price. Book early. A... More

I ordered the Lasagne for delivery to my hotel room. It was alright, but just an average meal. I opted not to eat there again during my trip.

There are TWO Carbone restaurants in NYC. Seems some reviewers might have confused the two. Last night 6 of us had a good dinner at the little place on W. 38th St (NOT the one in the Village). Very intimate setting -- maybe 6-8 tables? Small bar. We all agreed our food was excellent, service was earnest if a bit... More
