Description: Small, intimate place. Run by real Italians, which shows up in the food. The place isn't particularly flashy - I feel as if many people probably pass it by, but inside past the bar it's nice and cozy with brick walls and little Italian signs here and there. Cute place and the prices are fair and the food is really good. Of note is the brick oven pizza -The service is very friendly and generally pretty snappy. The Backyard is now open. Buon Appetito !

I'm in NYC once a month on business, which means I'm also on a budget and in NYC, that's a challenge when it comes to restaurants. Carbone is definitely the place to try - even if your not on the corporate dime. It's small but very inviting. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The chef looks like an Italian... More

Read the positive reviews on Trip Advisor so thought we'd give this a try however was disappointed. Service was bad, had to ask 3 times for a coke and still didn't get it. Realised after we left we got charged $14 for the $8 soup of the day and the general feel of the restaurant was depressing. Would not recommend.

Nice place with great service. The food is good, the wine list expensive. Great for special occasions . Some dishes like the cesar salad are outstanding others like the veal parmigano average.

The owner is very attentive and the sauce is outstanding. We stumbled on to this place one evening and the service and food was outstanding. It is a very small place and you feel like you are in Italy. The stuffed pepper first course was simply the best and we split it three ways. The tomato sauce was great. The... More

Great Italian in NYC is abundant but this is a +1 on the scale. We had three of their signature dishes and one appetizer recommended by our table captain and each was outstanding. The Carpaccio ap was great. The three mains were 1) Lobster ravioli, 2) Spicy Rigatoni Vodka 3) Veal parm...the place is expensive and wines less than $75... More

The staff is so knowledgeable about food and wine. We based our wine and dinner on their recommendations. It was one of the best meals in NYC.

First five "star" review and this place is worth it. First the quirk(s): the music is fifties rock and roll. Here's a restaurant that has gone out of its way to make you feel like you're in a high end trattoria in Florence and the music is Alan Freed at the Brooklyn Paramount. Ok; that's out of the way. The... More
