Good but not the best

We made a special trip on a rainy Saturday night and could barely squeeze into the tiny space. I can't imagine what a sunny day is like. No matter. We ordered the "Greatest Hits" which consists of a compost cookie - delicious, crack pie - good but I don't get it, birthday truffles - also good... read more

I went down to Milk Bar because I had to try the Cereal Milk Ice Cream. I caught it on my way downtown, and went in. Very small place, but they have exactly what you need. As for the ice cream...it is EXPENSIVE...don't get me wrong. I LOVED IT. It was not what I would be expecting, it is actually... More

I had the dulche de leche truffles and it was regular. My friends love their crack pie. If you are a sweet tooth, you probably gonna like it. They are famous and their stuff have quality. But it's not a must go, the city offers more interesting things.

We stopped by Milk Bar after a night out. There was a long line, but the weather was nice and we enjoyed the time outside. Once we were inside the staff was super friendly. Singing along with the music, chatting with customers, ect. Even with the long line they didn't make you feel rushed. I ordered the milk and cereal... More

Every time I'm in New York City I always make it a point to stop into Momofuku! Anytime you go into one of their locations you get great quick service. The compost cookie is amazing! I always make sure to bring enough back to share with friends and family!

We waited in line for about 10 minutes to get in and what we ordered was slightly underwhelming. Nevertheless, it was good to try out. We ordered the cereal milk soft serve with corn flakes (as it looked to be the most popular choice) and it was just ok. Nothing compares to the taste of it so I can understand... More

My husband and I tried: Birthday Cake Truffles: 100% yes. These little guys were one of the best things we ate in NYC. Soft, sugary and tastes like the best birthday cake you have ever had Corn Cookie: pass. I tried to like this...but it had a weird taste. Compost Cookie: pass. Again, I really wanted to love this...but it... More

Loved the service. The girl was just lovely, so was the guy who gave out the treats. We had a cereal milk soft serve with cornflake crunch. Cornflake crunch was okay but the ice cream itself… Best soft serve EVER. Absolutely loved it!

Little bit of a hole in the wall with dirty windows and funky signage. Don't go out of your way, maybe time for reboot. Cereal milk ice cream was icy/grainy.

It's a good thing it wasn't very busy when we arrived, as there is only room for a few people to stand inside, and the only seating area outside was already taken by another group. The treats were fantastic, and definitely worth the trip. Just like Momofuku noodle bar, I was charmed by the novelty of the flavor combinations.

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
