We were looking for a place to eat around Times Square and settled on the Houndstooth. The food there is not good! It tasted like frozen food reheated e.g. Frozen fries and popcorn shrimp deep fried. Very heavy, salty food that's not worth it. I hardly touched the chicken pot pie and the onion rings were soggy. Go elsewhere if... More

Really good portions, pate, chicken pie and Cobb salad were very good, nice atmosphere and good service for our family of two boys.

The four of us were very hungry when we arrived, and the staff was great! Each of us ordered a different drink and a different lunch. All of us were pleased by the good food and the great drinks. A nice place, with fairly normal prices.

This pub was two blocks away from our hotel and we went on our final night in New York. The menu was good, the food was excellent and the service was also good although we did have to chase our bill!

We ate here on our first night in the city, mainly because it wasn't far away and some of the reviews looked promising. Our first impression wasn't great because the staff acted a little moodily and sort of 'went through the motions'. We both ordered starters and they were both good, I had Meatball Soup which was a little thin... More

Son had a great experience there on our recent trip to NYC. Wanted us all to go the next night. But typical, it wasn't as good, nor was the service. We all ordered burgers the next night. We were there fairly early also and made a reservation which we didn't need. It was kind of empty at 5:30 on a... More

We found this pub early on during our visit to New York and quickly made it our local. Enjoyed several drink sessions and food and the staff were brilliant. However on our last night, with different staff at the bar, our bill turned up with an auto gratuity added of 20%. When we queried this, as we do tip well... More

YWe were part of a 1 day "there and back" organized bus trip to NYC. Our pick up and drop off spot was near the Houndstooth Pub. After a very long day of shopping and sight seeing, we headed back there with only a brief amount of time. Inside was warm and comfy - particularly on the rainy, cool day... More

Stopped at the Houndstooth after a long day of walking and sightseeing. Very attentive server. Was a bit surprised that a pub would run out of a draft IPA. That being said, the Guiness was a wonderful substitute. Very good burgers (mine grass-fed beef; my son's was turkey), cooked to perfection with the right amount of grilled onions, mushrooms, etc.... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
