Dinner before a show

Cool atmosphere. We stayed at the New Yorker hotel so it was just a short walk. Quick service. Food was pretty good. Great drink specials. Prices were reasonable.

We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott on 37th St. Right off of 8th Ave. It started raining and my wife and I didn't want to hang in our hotel room so we took the short 3 minute walk to Houndstooth 1in the drizzle. We were sat right away and got a couple drinks and an appetizer. Both were delicious.... More

Stopped by 6/23/15 for dinner, arrived around 6pm. Ordered our drinks everything there fine, dinner was another story. Ordered scallops with rice, scallops were cold. Sent them back and they just warmed them again on the OUTSIDE, and they were the same scallops and the insides were still cold. Ordered chicken pot pie but didn't care for the chicken, tasted... Standard pub fare in NYC. Clean but loud for lunch. Service was very good. Had the Cobb salad and it was good. Sandwiches were good too. Very typical menu and setting. Nice in a pinch but not worth going out of the way for.

Stopped in for dinner with my family on a whim, not expecting anything great, just looking to rest and get our bellies full...The food was really tasty, portion very large . Our waitress (sorry, forgot her name) was excellent and great with our kids too. There were plenty of people having drinks , great energy in the bar area. I... More

We had a goose liver pate for an appetizer that was out of this world!!! Then just sandwiches for our entrée. My roast beef and swiss was delicious but a little dry. Service was excellent. Waitress was honest and sincere when recommending items on the menu. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely go back. Hostess needs a lesson in customer service. Sad... More

My wife and I got into the city late, needed something close to our hotel so we tried it, food was very good, typical bar, but a cut above. Service was fast and very pleasant. Would definitely go back.

My wife and i tried to visit this Pub, in March for drinks and a snack. She had been here before and had a great experience. I have to say it took me a while to write this review, because usually i don't feel the need for bad reviews. We arrived at the door of the pub and the bouncer... More

The drinks were standard, however staff very unplesant when we did not wish to pay 18 percent gratuity for poor service at the bar. We were threathened that the police would be called if we did not pay! I had heard that New York setvice could be different, but this ...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
