Went there tonight. It is closed. We were disappointed. Tavola is across the street and is very good. That is all.
We are in New York on vacation. We had a Groupon coupon for this restaurant and when we showed up last night (25 Feb) at 10pm the place was locked and in darkness. We crossed the street to another restaurant and asked what the story was with Mario's. We were told that it has not been open for over a... More
Through restaurant.com we visited Mario's this past Saturday night around 5:30PM. This is a very small restaurant, maybe seating about 30 at one time. Upon arriving, we were seated quckly. Seating is tight. We were attended to quickly. Our soft drinks and the appetizer of garlic knots came quickly. The knots were good but some were burnt. Then we waited... More
Came here with a living social coupon and here are some random thoughts: RESERVATIONS: I suggest u do this coz the place is small (not sure though if they really guarantee seats availability) but then I have to call coz the deal we have is good for two people and just have to advise we have kids.. to which they... Small little restaurant that keeps me coming back for more. I like to start with the house salad, my favorite main course is the chicken marsala. The lasagna and pizza come in at a close second. Have only been there twice but will be in there weekly to try all their dishes. Wait staff are handsome and attentive to your... More
If you are in New York, Mario's Trattoria is a must eat destination!! The Lasagna is the best I have ever had. The service is excellent and everyone goes out of their way to make you feel at home. I will definitely be going back every time I am in New York.
Although not well located neighborhood wise, Mario's was a positive experience for the most part. We found it through a coupon on the web which promised two appetizers and two entrees for $35. After doing the math, we probably only saved roughly under $10 on the whole meal. The tax is calculated on the total pre-coupon price. The waiter told... More
I went with my 3 boys and was seated straightaway. Very attentive waiters - replaced orange juice spilled by my son straightaway. Food was excellent although the pizzas even though they were the small 6inch size were very filling. The atmosphere was very relaxed and my eggplant dish was very tasty. The prices were very reasonable considering other restaurants in... More
Had dinner at Mario's, which was wonderful, as always. However, the best part of the night was when we ordered tartufo to share for dessert. They were out if it, so the owner actually left the restaurant and went to get some for us. Who does that?? This is one of the many reasons this is my favorite NYC restaurants!... More
We had a horrible experience while dining in with a $35 groupon voucher. We made a reservation for 6:30 pm, and arrived there exactly at that time. We had to stand near the door for like 5 mins before someone at least came to us. Worst were after we were sited. We ordered calamari appetizer, waited for about 20 mins,... More
