It's worth the taxi ride to this crown jewel that sits in the East Village, a sweet, quiet hideaway with great service and smiles that bring you the best damned pizza ever. AND they have a staff of 15 delivery people at night carting around these heavenly pies to a large area of NYC. Known for... read more

My friend and I tried here first time, and expected much better pizza here... but nooooo:(!!! We ordered a Margarita and Clam pizza's. Both were subpar. Pizza wasn't hot, there're only few pieces of tiny chopped clams. Both were almost $20 a piece. We also wished the crust was thinner. The server was pleasant and he was very cute talking... More

We loved the brussel sprouts pizza, great drinks menu. I would go back there every time I come to New York. Pizzas baked to perfection - felt extremely gourmet. Like the very standard industrial feel decor. Staff were lovely and service was great

I walked along 5th avenue (stayed near times square, and decide to explore Manhattan on foot ) to Motorino, based a Singapore famous food blogger. I arrived after lunch hours and thankful there was no queue. Ordered the fresh clam pizza. 1st look, wow how come to pizza is "cho ta" (blacken) and the clams so small and scattered (I... More

We were recommended Motorino by friends and we were happy they did. Good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Will it blow your mind?? Probably not, you will however leave with a contented smile.

I find it hard to reconcile our experience with the reviews here. We were ushered into a tiny, crowded, noisy room by the friendly staff (the only reason I'm giving it two stars, lovely staff.) We were served some friend bologna type thing for appetizer, a tiny, barren "pizza" with a smear of tomato sauce, I think, hardly any visible... More

Because of all the great recommendations we went here to have dinner. Nicely crowded but staff a bit automated. Pizza's were OK bur we have surely had better ones. Green salad vert basic. 1 pizza came 5 minutes after the other 4.

Had to queue outside in the cold for a table as this place is tiny. Worth the wait though, enjoyed the pizza which was full of fresh ingredients. One criticism though, who serves red wine in a tumbler!!

I come here at least once per month. It is lovely, so romantic! The pizza here is just amazing, it reminds me home, Italy. I recommend this place to everyone, prices are not too high !

Pizza is a big staple of NY cuisine. You can find it everywhere but it is not that easy to find a decent slice. it is often coated with too much cheap mozzarella, too thick or just bland. At Motorino the pizzas were thin and really tasty, cooked well, and had interesting flavors. I had never heard of brussels sprout... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
