50 and fabulous in NY

Walked what seemed to be a hundred miles because someone told us the best value meals were to be found in Hells Kitchen. One of the first restaurants we found was an authentic Italian place where Mama makes the wonderful wine and the meals are superb. A great meal after a day of sightseeing in... read more

I was invited so I can't complain much... The prices are definitely too high for a plate of pasta. Italian cuisine means much more than pasta. The place is nicely decorated. The waiter is probably the boss. Very friendly. He gave us free of charge a glass of dessert wine. Not sure this is the best italian in Hell's Kitchen.

My daughter and stayed in a different part of Manhattan this time, and we are so glad we did! We found a restaurant we will visit every time we go to New York! The ambiance is perfect for couples, friends, kids and a Mother/Daughter weekend! I must confess we went twice! Isaac, your Host, is charming and makes you feel... More

Stopped for dinner there on a Thursday night around 7, place was empty. Had the spaghetti carbonara and my wife had the spaghetti Butanesca, and the food was very good, and the price was reasonable. Unfortunately, the place desperately needs some redecorating, as it almost feels claustrophobic with the very tight entrance and the plants covering the whole front window.... More

So we just landed after a long flight - tired and hungry we found this place. Seemed fine when looking at the menu and most items are around $20. So then we are told about the "specials" - we both have the fish that is on special. It is a tiny piece but well cooked. Took a while to get... More

After a very long day of travelling, we spotted this attractive, authentic looking Italian restaurant that looked more appealing than the usual franchise restaurants around the Times Square area. We called in in the early evening looking for a quick meal before a much needed night's sleep. When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly full, and the owner asked us... More

We were all very tired from a long day of travelling - and after having tried 2 other restaurants that were full we ended up by coincidence at Casa di Isacco - and we weren't disappointed at all. As with many restaurants I've been too appearances may deceipt. The inside of this restaurant is super cozy - and at the... More

The owner is lovely, welcoming gentleman. Very homely feel. Like family. The wine is fantastic, he says his mother makes it herself. The place feels authentic Italian, a little oasis in New York City. I had gnocchi, food was fresh, delicious, service was fantastic. I will be going back.

This restaurant features well made Spanish and Italian dishes. It's cozy and the service is good. It's a good value. The restaurant is run by a Spanish Elvis Impersonator who visits every table. He can be very entertaining. It's like dinner and a show. He's very generous and a gracious host. He's also rather manic. If you're looking for a... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
