Best lobster roll in NYC

I have tried about 4 different lobster roll places in NYC, including Mary's fish camp and Luke's is clearly the best!! It's a must have whenever I am in the city and one is never enough! for such a casual establishment the service has always been great too at all the different outlets I visited.

As you might realize, lobster rolls are one of Hungry Gringo's most reviewed . I know good Lobster and Lobster Rolls. Within a secrete little corner of this hotel(Row), is a nice little food court. This is where Luke's sets their trap. Overall I found the Lobster Roll absent of flavor and rather gummy. Almost as if the lobster was... More

The rolls were indeed finger licking good as the stuffings between the bread are really generous. You are bound to have sauces on your fingers no matter how careful you are! Go ahead and try the trio combo of crab, lobster and shrimp roll if you can't make up your mind of what to try. The combo is about 1/2... More

Delicious rolls! Pickles are free! I had a lobster roll and then had another right after. My friends had some sort of lobster grilled cheese which was very interesting and a Mexican cola. Very good.

Actually stumbled upon the basement of the Plaza due to needing to use the restroom. Went downstairs and what do we have here....a Todd English restaurant, shoe shine, flower shops, and a bunch of small shops and food bars. Oh ya there was also Luke's Lobster too!! Had gone back 2x over the week I was in NYC during the... More

Got a lobster roll combo meal and it was DELICIOUS. Warm toasted bread roll, mayo and generous serving of lobster meat with seasoning. However, for the price, the roll isn't very big, you can kind of finish it in 6-10 bites. The combo meal also comes with "chips", which turned out to be a packet of crisps. I had expected... More

On our way to a show, took the time to find Luke's Lobster, which is not visible from the street at all (it is inside City Kitchen with a number of other interesting restaurants.) Glad we did. A bit pricy but the lobster rolls were marvelous, generously stuffed with large chunks of lobster on nicely toasted and buttered bread. Service... More

They fit so much lobster into such a tiny roll! Deeeelicious! I have never seen so much of an animal stuffed into a single slice of buttered bread. It was simple, but spot on. Seating is very limited at this location - then again do you really need a place to sit when something tastes so good that you cannot... More

The lobster roll was amazing! I savored every bite and ate half as it is and half with siracha sauce for a bit of a kick! I didn't enjoy the ginger soda I picked (wrong choice!) but the combo of the pickle and cole slaw was real good. Portion was a bit small but still was very yummy and would... More

Wish we had one in England as I would visit everyday! By far the best lobster rolls I have ever had. I had the trio of lobster, crab and prawns with chips and a drink which was great value for money.

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
