Fun Outdoor Bar

Good wine list. Lots of energy in the room. The appetizers were better than the entrees. Good for groups. This is a big, noisy place. Daytime wait staff isn't very skilled, but you won't mind because they're so friendly.

I like the location in Meatpacking and atmosphere is really magic. Expecially in Spring and Summer you can enjoy table outside.

Part of the standard Hotel on the High Line. One block from the new Whitney (a must). Part of a cluster of bars and restaurants the hotel has extended out into the street under the High Line. This one looks like an old warehouse space sandwiched under the old tracks. Attractive decor with tables on the street side and in... More

Nothing but "standard" food and service, and pricey. Each course was missing an ingredient, overcooked or just OK. May have been great at one time, but seems no one is checking quality of food leaving kitchen. Dined at Gato night before, Bobby Flay's new restaurant, best meal I have ever eaten! Bobby continues to spend time in his kitchen to... More

We had lunch during the week here and the food was very good. We had to wait quite awhile before placing our order and the drinks (ice tea) took at least 15-20 minutes. The food was very good. We had the mussels, grilled tuna salad and turkey sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Again, we had to wait to get the... More

Visiting from the UK, seated early in a curved leather booth near the entrance, we felt we had a wonderful New York lunch: steak salads, generous cocktails, courteous and attentive service. Despite the quiet streets, it was completely full (Monday lunch). Just be aware that the (clean, modern) bathrooms are down poorly-lit stairs, with confusing mirrored walls….a challenge for the... We were here on a Wednesday evening with our kids aged 13 and 11. We had very good food and service. Inside is huge and a bit loud and dark. We sat outside, which was lovely. It a pretty cool venue, great for people watching but pretty pricey.

The host mistakenly seated someone else under our name, we weren't seated where requested but taken to a street side table in front of the metal barricades which was noisy and dusty. Our table was short one chair and we waited almost 10 minutes with one person from our party left standing at the table. The table itself was dusty... More

I came here on an early Saturday afternoon for brunch after having a wonderful visit to the new Whitney Museum right down the street. There was a 10 minute wait which was no big deal since it was such a beautiful day out and we took the opportunity to explore a bit more until the restaurant sent us a text... More

We were seated promptly by a friendly hostess. Water was poured and drink orders were taken promptly. When our food arrived my pot of tea had cooled and two out of the three entrees were delivered cold. The flavor of the food was nice but cold eggs aren't my choice. We were disappointed in our food, and I regret not... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
