The Meatpacking District is an area in Manhattan where everything is glued to the word "cool". This restaurant will not let anyone down, specially those in search for a good place to drink or eat in that part of the city. Price is correct and the menu has choices varying from a sandwich to a more elaborared dish, including good... More

The standard is a reliable spot. A great option for a work lunch, a weekend brunch, or a drink. The atmosphere, especially outside, is fun and full of interesting people watching. The food never disappoints especially with signature items like the lobster roll and mussels constantly on the menu.

Everyone seems to agree that brunch is great at Standard Grill, I would like to add that dinner was rather good and definitely recommendable as well. We went there on a Monday evening during a short visit to NY with my sister. We had reserved through open table we were greeted warmly upon arrival and shown to our table right... More

We visited for Sunday Brunch so was full and bustling yet service was still good and food as good as you could expect fropm a brunch menu. Also has the added bonus of the beer garden outside (though heated & covered as it was cold and snowy) for a few drinks afterwards.

I ate here with my wife and two of our children. We had the brunch menu on what I think was President's Day. The food was spectacular. the waiter was incredibly efficient and friendly and the very knowledgeable and approachable sommelier helped us chose the perfect wine accompaniment.

Food, service, and wine was great! It's a definite place to go to - we really enjoyed it. Server recommended the fish or the pork chop - we split it and they were both great!

Tip: Avoid the old fashioned booths, the cushions are worn down and uncomfortable. Quality brunch spot. Went on Sunday so very busy, with a lot of kids. Great place to eat before walking the High Line. Good alternative to the Chelsea Market if you want to sit at a table. Separate bills are available, and items on the bill can... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
