Amazing people watching, top notch service and great food to boot!

This was second time visiting this restaurant located under the high line. I was visiting The Whitney and spent the day in the meat packing district. Before we booked this restaurant we read reviews, looked at pictures and got referral from a co-worker. We made reservation well ahead and asked for seating at booth, which they wouldn't confirm. When we arrived we were seated elsewhere which was ok at first but turned out to be very loud with a lot of food traffic behind us. The... More

I don't understand what the big noise is about this place. Menu wasn't great. Extremely overpriced. Food average or below average. There are soooo many better places to eat in NYC and in the Meatpacking District, I don't know why anyone would come here--except maybe for the overpriced desserts. The freshly baked cookies and milk were tasty and fun (and... More

I have been looking for a nice trendy place with great food and a friend of mine recommended this place. I moved from the US 6 yrs ago and since then I have not had French toast. What I had here was simply out of this world!! Almond crusted french toast served with tart cherries and maple syrup... Yumm and... More

This place gets pretty crowded, but as long as you make a reservation you will get in on time. The bartenders were amazing as well. I can be picky when it comes to cocktails and they knew exactly what to make me!

We stopped in at the restaurant at The Standard Hotel in Chelsea for breakfast because it was conveniently located near the 10th Street entrance to High Line Park. It was a beautiful spring day so we asked for the outdoor seating. Our waitress came and took our orders. Very nice breakfast menu by the way. As we sat there, we... More

Great Monday night buzz at The Standard Grill on 5/18. Interesting menu selections, well prepared, and well priced. Comfortable and loud as the vaulted ceiling catches sound and amplifies it, god help a Commie spy relaying classified information! Seriously, DJ did a great job with curated tunes and service was effective and efficient, our server was well versed on the... More

Friends and I enjoyed a nice Sunday brunch at the Standard Grill while in NYC recently. We had a variety of plates and they were all tasty, and the service was prompt and polite. We sat in the dinning area by the inside bar, and I would recommend this area, since it is airy and bright. The main dining room... More

We went here twice on our last trip, because it was a great place to have a decent meal (tasty, juicy, chunky burgers and crispy chips!) in a busy, but relaxed place. Reservations advised, was packed at all times during the weekend.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
