Excellent value and very good food

We came here early on a Tuesday evening for dinner, before heading uptown for a Broadway show. Friendly service, food very good and well-presented. The prices are frankly excellent for New York City. This was a good find! Authentic Thai food, with appropriate Asian beers. Modern, clean restaurant on West 14th Street, short walk from the subway stop at Union Square. I had the pumpkin curry .and it was delicious. Prices were quite reasonable, too.

After a Bway show here for an early dinner. Truly NYC decor, complex but fascinating. The staff need to wear a bit more clothes if you take young kids there. As bad as the fried tofu starter was, as delicious as the iron pot steamed sea bass was. Do not miss the latter. Solid wine selection. Fabulous central location. Would... More

We liked everything we ordered. The chef has put their own interpretation on traditional Thai dishes, so enjoy the adventure. Our server was attentive without hovering. I'd definitely return for another meal.

There are restaurants that treat you like guests, and then there are those where you have to jump out of the server's way as they rush around. This place has great food, but has no understanding of good service. I arrived ahead of my party and asked for a table for 4, thinking I'd order an appetizer and a drink... More

We dined here as a family of four. The pleasant and enthusiastic greeting from the young host was encouraging. We were seated near the end of the evening, and this may explain (but not excuse) the lack of service. Twice during the evening we walked over to the bar to get refills on our water glasses. Once the food was... More

Our first dining in New York. The food was very good, The restaurant was clean and the staff efficient. However when we left the waitress chased us down the road looking for a bigger tip. Apparently we had only given her 12% and she was looking for a 20% tip. As this was our first evening in America this threw... More

prompt and efficient service. Fresh ingredients. I had the crispy pork belly. Amazing nice heat with crisp veggies. My friend had pad thai which looked amazing as well. Lots of shrimp. If I lived close id eat here every week.

I was craving a chicken Pad Thai in the Times Square area, and did not know which of the many Thai restaurants to choose. As I walked around the neighborhood, Qi stood out like a twinkling, white light. The all white and crystal décor was a little oasis on W.14th Street. At 10 minutes to closing, the friendly host allowed... More

An elegant white and crystal ambiance that startled us as we walked in - such a different motif than the average Thai restaurant. As frequently happens when we try a new restaurant, we ordered too much food (the waiter warned us) because we wanted to try several entrees and sides. The food was all very fresh tasting with each element... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
