stop for lunch

Went in for lunch in between business meetings. Good selection and good service. Would go there again when back in New York.

Chain restaurant but very good. A step below Del Frisco's in food quality, but price as well. Extensive wine list and our waiter suggested a reasonable priced wine which was very good. As with any NYC steakhouse, it's going to be a costly meal but you won't be disappointed.

Came here with a bunch of friends for restaurant week. Although i did not order off of the restaurant week menu some people in our group did. I ordered the Delmonico steak and ordered the lobster mac n cheese as well as au grautin potatoes and an appetizer. All was delicious. No complaints. Service was impeccable. I would def come... Had dinner with my son here on Tues night. Terrible food and even though I thought it was impossible even worse service. With so many great steakhouses in NYC why anyone would choose this one is beyond my understanding. You really can do better.

Every time I come to NYC (or Fort Lauderdale for that matter), I eat at The Capital Grille at least once. Their menus offer fantastic quality - with a price tag to match. Their filet steaks are the best I've had anywhere, as are the truffle fries... and creamed corn... and lobster mac'n'cheese for that matter! Highly recommended!

The food was good but the usual steakhouse fare and the prices were the usual steakhouse prices- high. I did not enjoy the scallop and risotto dish that I had - not awful, just not that good. My husband had a steak and really enjoyed it. I guess lesson learned - eat steak at a steakhouse!

Atmosphere wasn't what I expected for a steakhouse. We sat in the bar and ordered a burger and lamb lollipops. I ordered the burger medium and it was raw in the middle. Sent it back and they returned the portion of the burger cooked a bit more with nothing else remaining on plate. Disappointed in the wine list as well.... More

We had some time to kill so we swung into the Capital Grille. The wine list is average at best. Danny and Mike were our bartenders and were really attentive. We wanted a good wine by the glass and after trying several the most expensive was the only one worth drinking. The lollipop rack of lamb was very good but... More

The Capital Grille on 51st near 6th Avenue has a barside menu ( can also order from the main menu) for the calorie unconscious that is death-defying and worth dying for! Perfect beef- perfect truffle froes or regular fries; perfect bar drinks; excellent friendly service. I urge all carnivores to try this place-it never disappoints. KMeloff Toronto

Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
