My review starts with a question to the owners: You have spent a fortune creating décor to evoke an elegant Russian home in days of yore. You have your waitresses dressed in baby girl dresses to evoke some sort of old world atmosphere. So why do you insist on blasting Brittney Spears, Right Said Fred and Status Quo music through... Nice atmosphere, brings you back to Russia :) Food is very good, a little overpriced but taking into account it is in the City of NY it is an average rate. Very cool place. I enjoy it every time I go.

We enjoyed this restaurant for the first time joining family for a birthday party. Leave the dull world behind when you enter their doors. We tasted lots of dishes, each one distinctive and delicious. The atmosphere was lively, customers danced to an accordion that periodically swept through the dining room and spirits were definitely buoyant. The decor is Russian glam... More

Over the Christmas holiday we went to Mari Vanna's for dinner. The next night we returned - it was that good. The meat blinis are superb as is the Chicken Kiev and Beef Stroganoff. The desserts are extraordinary, particularly the honey cake and Napoleon. The service is superb. The restaurant is noisy, but it also has atmosphere and is not... More

This is not my first time in Marivanna NYC. I enjoy everything about this place: interior, service, food. Being known as a very picky in my food preferences and tastes I still want to mention that the experience in the restaurant is incredible! Home-like delicious food gives a feeling of being back in Kazakhstan, eating grandmom's food. The interior is... More

We were a group of friends who went there for Halloween dinner. The food was very very tasty! Do not forget to try their olivier salad and chicken kiev. Being a person who doesn't eat anything else than chicken for non vegetarian, I couldn't taste much of the foods that we ordered. But my friends were all raving about Borscht,... More

My sister took me there for my birthday last year and it was wonderful. We started with the artichoke salad & blinis with red caviar. A simple salad but it was delicious. We shared Golubski (which wasn't on the lunch menu, but they made if for us anyway!! And Siberian Pelmeni. Delicious, hearty peasant food. I think I loved the... More

Somebody suggested Mari Vanna to my husband and I while we were visiting New York and we were so happy that we tried it! We have been to several other Russian restaurants in NYC and Mari Vanna is our new favorite! The atmosphere was very cute and fun, I loved the "your old Russian grandma's place" feel to it. Loved...
