ONCE IN YOUR LIFE YOU MUST GET TO TASTE THE LAMB CHOPS ...From New Zeland or AU.? they are known for their steaks and they are great But you can find a great steak in at least 6 NY restaurants however, you will never, never find Lamb chops as good anywhere. Service is excellent... and you never know who you... More

I love small but outstanding restaurants in New York City and FDrankie and Johnnie's has to be the best. In addition to their steaks, I highly recommend their thick charcoaled pork chops served with the Frankie and Johnnie's special salad. Outstanding food and service always. I have been a regular customer since the late '70's.

This was one of several places that I stumbled upon on a recent trip to New York. The funky exterior and fact that it had survived since the Prohibition Era spoke to me. I had to give it a try. We went there late at night, around 11:30 PM, after the theatre. It is really convenient to the theatre district.... More

This restaurant, near Broadway, is great for dinner after a show. It is a former speakeasy and retains an old fashioned charm. The steaks are large and very tasty. Two people can share the steaks, except the petite filet. The caesar salads were excellent and recommended. Also try the shrimp cocktail. It is very reasonably priced and its location makes... More

Established steakhouse in the heart of the theater district. Fast and courteous service; crowded, but not too noisy surrounds. Steaks were perfectly cooked, generous portions, and a variety of sides available. I especially enjoyed the Ceaser salad. Limited dessert menu

Having read such great reviews I was definitely looking forward to something more than what I got. The steak was dry and tasteless, and it looked really lonely sitting on the plate with a single shrivelled up mushroom. The house steak sauce tasted like rebottled BBQ sauce and needed to be applied liberally. The wine list is not exhaustive. The... More

As you make your way up the staircase you are greeted by photographs of stars, both past and present. As you turn the corner going up, up, up - the smell of steaks and laughter fill the air, not to mention a cream spinnach that would make you question your own mothers cooking. This place is cozy, take special people... More

Celebrated our daughters 21st birthdays here. Everything was perfect! Food was wonderful as was our waiter. I brought special wine glasses to use for our celebration and he gladly took them to the bar to put our wine in instead of their glasses. He even washed and wrapped them back up when we finished drinking. Great restaurant for special celebrations.

My husband and I said we'd go back to NYC - just to eat at Frankie and Johnnie's on 45th Street. From the friendly, personal service to the mound of just right, crispy hash browned potatoes, we were in NYC steak house heaven. The steaks were cooked to perfection. I had the filet and my husband had the ribeye. D... More
