Cool dining experience. Tuxedoed waiters, white linens and very attentive servers. Not at all pretentious. A bit of subtle humour (?) actually in the dialogue and delivery from the staff. Very welcoming dining room. Traditional steakhouse fare. Opted for martinis and glass of wine instead of a bottle. Cocktails were big. Steaks were large and very acceptable cuts. Not inexpensive... I was dog-tired from a long day out in Manhattan and I didn't want to travel far. This restaurant was literally over the road from my hotel on W 37th and I wanted steak. I could not have chosen better. This restaurant oozes tradition. It is not a place for children. Clientele was grown up and dressed up. The waiters... More

Everything is served family style. The steak was amazing. Potatoes and mushrooms were excellent! Service was impeccable. We will definitely go back!

Seriously disappointed. Went here with my new fiancée for dinner before a Broadway show . Firstly the decor is old and dilapidated , looks like they've done nothing with the place since it opened. It's incredibly cramped and waiter had to move our table to allow me get in to my seat. Service is blunt and sloppy , food and... More

Been several times for pre-show dinners on Broadway and it never disappoints. Steaks are always cooked perfectly. The service is certainly not over the top as you might find in some places trying to hard to impress, but they are attentive and gracious. Pricey, but that's what you get in Manhattan. Definitely recommended!

The steak is very good at decent prices. The decor is dated, however, if you are with a group, one can look past that for the good food and attentive waiters.

Nice place. Old speak easy with great atmosphere. Good service. Pricey like all New York steak houses. My wife and daughter loved their filets, I was too picky about my ribeye. Like most men I always think I do steaks better. I do recommend it though.

This establishment is exactly what you think of when you picture Manhattan dining. No matter what you order, there is care taken into every dish and it has a classic steakhouse atmosphere that is welcoming and very metropolitan. I highly recommend this to anyone staying near Hells Kitchen or the Times Square area .

This is a place I actually don't want to tell you about - I don't want it to become commercialised (but I can't really see that happening). You can sit at the bar as we did (without a table reservation thatsxwherevyoull probably be) It's old fashioned quality service by waiters who seem to have been there for ever & also... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
