So close to perfect...

The décor is fabulous, and the casual concept of the restaurant lets you eat 5-star cuisine without being dressed up. Even the wait staff wear denim! The restaurant is known for its sausages, so that is what you should get. Don't be like me and fall for the pasta entrée. What was I thinking? It... read more

If you like sausages, burgers, beer and sundaes, this is the place for you. It is very heavy on meat, but service is first class. We got off on the right foot by being asked where we would like to sit. That is something too few restaurants bother to ask their patrons. Our waiter, Jose, was top notch. We asked... More

Go on a leisurely Saturday for great food, a casual atmosphere and a funky yet somehow still elegant ambience. I'm going back for sure. Daniel Boulud always hits it out of the park.

I don't normally feel the need to write reviews, however on this occasion I felt that it was important to highlight a few key aspects where the restaurant was well below what I expected. To start I would like to highlight the positives of my experience. The steak I ordered was excellent with very good presentation and taste, at a... More

Excellent 7oz. burgers (at $16-20, with excellent fries) without question. Halibut was tasty but small portion. Sausage appetizers are their specialty but were bland and at ~$15-17 pricey. Kalamari simularly was ok, but portion small and overpriced. Good service and pleasant atmosphere. Go for the burgers!

We've been here on each of our 4 visits to NY. Love the food - especially the sausages and the service is great. We had our first dinner here after getting married in Nov '13. A bit disappointed they don't open for weekday lunch anymore.

We secured a last minute reservation at DBGB's on a wet and miserable November day. it certainly brightened up our evening! Cocktails at the bar were great, bar tenders were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The White Cosmo was so good that my partner had to have 2! Dinner was great, the blood sausage starter was great - I have tried... More

I went for Sunday brunch on 4/26. It was still fairly early, so it was not busy yet, and it was nice enough that we could use the outdoor seating. Our waitress was great, very attentive. I did the prix-fixe menu with the mushroom soup, beer-battered cod, and the rhubarb sundae for dessert. Fantastic! (I couldn't actually finish the sundae,... More

We had drinks and a hamburger! Excellent burger. Fries were good, not greasy. The bartender mixed exactly what we wanted in the way we wanted it.

We had dinner at DBGB Kitchen and Bar for the first time on recommendation by a friend who frequents this restaurant often. When we arrived at 7 PM, the restaurant was about half full, but it became very full soon after that. We were seated promptly upon arrival. The decor is very pleasant and interesting. The service was efficient and... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
