Excellent Food and Service - Great tavern atmosphere

Ok, this isn't a chic, elegant restaurant. DBGB Kitchen and Bar is exactly what Chef Daniel Boulud calls it. Was visiting NYC this week and had dinner here with a friend. The restaurant is nicely set up and the bar/lounge area is separate from the dining area, which I felt was a nice change. We were seated in a booth for 2 and the service was great. Decent wine list and average prices. It was restaurant week, so one... More

My spouse and I dined at DBGB Kitchen and Bar for brunch on a Saturday afternoon in mid-January 2015. We made booked a table in the main dining room using the Open Table reservation system. (The restaurant accepts reservations for the dining room only; they do not accept reservations for tables in the bar room.) DBGB is open for lunch... More

We chose this place because of the chef's reputation and because they could seat 7 on Superbowl Sunday for dinner. A very meat-centric menu - or should I say sausage-centric - but also some vegetable dishes too. Those are our table who were most happy had the hamburgers and I regret that I did not go that route. I'm not... More

Everything from food to service to atmosphere I loved. I enjoyed the Thai sausage. It was very similar to the one they use in the Bahn Mi at Bar Boulud. Loved it and will go back to try the piggy burger next.

New spot and very popular. Great service, friendly staff. But we came for the food and was not disappointed. I enjoyed the sausage duo - beaujolais (pork with wine) served with lentils and Vermont (pork with cheddar) served with cornbread. Succulent and juicy. The Frenchie hamburger - with arugula and morbier cheese - was deemed delicious. Hit of the evening... More

Passed by this place a few times and finally decided to try it out. It's on the Bowery in NYC. For those who are not familiar this is where the homeless people live or used to live. The shelter and Salvation Army building is only across the street a few blocks down. I had many friends mugged on this street.... More

We took an early reservation at DBGB on New Year's Eve, and enjoyed every minute. The place was all prepared for the festivities to come, everyone was in a cheerful and festive mood, and the food never disappoints. By the time we left, the place was just about full, and although we missed the midnight action, felt fully satisfied with... More

Must try if you can. The appetizers were delicious - smokey sweat potato and calamari were our best. The mini hot dogs and fries were out if this world. The salmon main was nice; and sausages were fantastic (just a touch salty for my taste). And the wine list is extensive. Ambiance was great - open kitchen and surrounded by... More

This restaurant delivers on high quality burgers and great beers. I really like how the toppings are not overloaded and are there to complement the beef. Staff were really helpful and attentive. Shared a few gourmet sausages as a group to start - definitely worth trying. Excellent location on Bowery and close to subway.
