Absolutely breathtaking view of the empire state building and midtown. I was dying to go to a rooftop during my month visit to NYC, and a friend took me to 250 5th. He knew the people at the door, so we didn't have to wait long (if you read other reviews, however, it seems like the wait can be long... More

Went there for Sunday brunch. Great rooftop view. The food sucks, it's tasteless. Brunch is a buffet and the lines are incredibly long. The food is incredibly bad. Who serves hamburgers and hot dogs at a Sunday brunch. It's a real tourist trap.

So the Manhattan skyline is picturesque from a far, but at this site, you are literally in the skyline. With an uninstructed view of the might Empire State Building and others, it is a perfect setting for friends and dates to embark on an evening of great cocktails and beautiful people!

What a beautiful view! I went on a Friday night, so it was quite crowded, but there was more than enough space to have a seat. As far as I could see there were no waiters, but service at the bar was really quick and friendly. You see people of all sorts and sizes, so don't worry to much about... More

We cabbed to this location because it wasn't around anything we needed to go to or where we were staying but it was worth it! I had read great reviews about it and they didn't disappoint. We did not eat here, we just had a couple of cocktails on the roof top lounge seating. It was not very crowded which... More

Our first day in New York with our kids, we took them to 230 5th for a Saturday brunch at the rooftop cafe. We had a gorgeous sunny (not too hot) day which gave us a spectacular view of the Empire State building and Chrysler building. My kids (ages 12 and 9) loved the view and the burgers of course.... I am Hispanic and entered the penthouse with my boyfriend who is also Hispanic. we entered the place with no problems. We were meeting for a birthday party which was mostly Asians and white. I say at our table and a girl sitting two chairs over from me decided to pop out her own personal bottle of liquor. The waitress... More

I was recommended this bar not for it's drinks or food, but for the views that come with the price of drinks. There is NO ENTRY FEE at this bar which is located on the roof of the building with spectacular views of the Empire Building and the city. The first time I was there, it was chilly and everyone... We actually spotted this place from the top of the Empire State Building. The next day (a Sunday) we were strolling down Fifth Avenue, looking for a place for lunch that would be unique, and passed this place. We realized it was the rooftop restaurant we had seen the day before, so up we went! It was packed with people,... More
