There's a reason it was the best new restaurant. 5 years on, it's still a great restaurant

What makes a great restaurant? Food, service, decor. Check, check and check. But something else as well. A perfect balance of experiences. The sommelier who shares stories. The waiter who is always there but never intrusive. The food that seems too pretty to eat, but too tasty to leave a morsel... read more

Last Saturday the family went for dinner before a show and we were very disappointed. The place is nice but the food was not at all top notch. The salads were old and boring, the pasta was served cold and had to be returned, the fish was overcooked and the side dish was brought to the table when I was... More

If you are looking for a first class contemporary yet classic place for dinner this is it. Expect to spend $100 plus Pp including modest drinks but well worth it. Bronzino was top shelf. Cocktails are inspired. Really a great spot.

I booked table into Marea with OpenTable without knowing the rstaurant before. It is always nice, though unfortunately not overly common to be positively suprised with restaurant. We both took four course Prix Fixe menu, antipasto, pasta, pesce e dolci. We started with Gamberi e Calamari. Structure was perfect and I would definately put that dish into top 10 of... More

This culinary Relais et Châteaux located just by Columbus circle provides formal and discreet service. Many dish presentation are beautiful and some plates are truly excellent. Prices for lunch are appropriate. The day we went, a smile from the sommelier would have been appreciated, perhaps a bad day for her. Apart from this, the ambiance entices you to liger on... More

It was the best place to end our stay in NYC. I will be back to this restaurant. Worth every penny!!!! The best place to sit is at the bar as you get the bartenders who have such knowledge not only of the wines but what to drink with the food we had. I loved also sitting and meeting many... More

Enjoyed a very nice meal at this establishment. Staff are attentive without being overbearing. Food selection focuses on seafood and pasta, with all choices hitting high notes! Their fusili is one of the top choices and is highly recommended. We sampled several dishes, all very satisfying. While not normally a lover of bread, they had 4 excellent selections worth sampling.

This was once our favorite resto in NYC for its perferctly conceived and prepared food and its excellent, cutomer oriented execution. No longer. You should do what the chef has apparently done, direct your attention to other venues. The list of what was wrong with our meal and he service, on a recent Monday night, is long and sad. This... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
