Great food and even better service. Reservations are a must as the rest. is booked well in advance. The staff were very accommodating with my wifes request as she is quite fussy. Although the restaurant was quite busy, the acoustics were fantastic making table talk quite easy.

My son booked us a table at Marea for 9:00 p. m. which I thought was a little late for dinner but as it turned out it was perfect. We stayed at the Hilton Garden at 8th and 48th and it was an easy 10 minute walk to the restaurant of about 10 blocks. It was a Saturday night and... More

I am not into following movie stars, television personalities, circus clowns, whatever. What I look for in a NYC restaurant and what I truly appreciate is a talented chef. Then if the restaurant decor is pleasing to me, I enjoy it even more. I plan future events in my head based on my experience. I also vault my future plans... More

Chef Michael White does not disappoint at this wonderful restaurant on Central Park West. Each of the courses were a wonderful mix of flavors prepared beautifully from the crudos/antipasti, to the pasta, secondi's and desserts. The four course prix fixe menu is terrific value. Would highly recommend for the food, attentive service and the experience!

Came here for a late evening business dinner. Menu has a variety of pasta, seafood and steaks. Food was superb with fantastic taste at every bite. Extensive wine list, however very pricey for the quality of the wines offered. Service was attentive to every detail.

I was surprised how unpretentious Marea was compared to many of it's counterparts in the neighbourhood. The restaurant focuses mainly on Italian seafood dishes. Everyone at our table went for the 4 course prix fixe as it is the best way to try a bit of everything. The crudo list is very extensive and exquisitely presented, the octopus fusilli with... More

Late night at the bar, the gorgeous thinly-sliced panels of marble (or is it Agate?) (full disclosure you might see some culinary stars having a snack,)ti chose the crudo menu, pristine ocean fishes, vintage champagne, lots of eye candy. Central Park South must go-to venue, dress nice

I had a dinner with my wife. I was asked twice by servers if we would join the Broadway show or musical after the dinner. We did not plan to do that, but many guests who had started the dinner at 17 to 18 :00 may have joined the shows directly after the dinner, and the servers had to know... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
