There was a mix up with our booking at Chef's Table Brooklyn Fare. All dressed up and no where to go, we decided to drop into Marea. Pleasantly, they found a table for us well dressed walk-in and the evening was saved. Food was fabulous as one would expect for this 2-star Michelin diner. My favourite was the Bomboloni dessert,... I came here with my husband while in New York in 2013. I looked up Anthony Bourdian to check what he would recommend and in one article he mentions marea and I had to try it. The dinning room is luxurious with impressive table settings. The food was seafood and my I say the best octopus was served here. They... More

Reservation was made online and was easy to make at marea-nyc.com. The champagne selection was very large and we enjoyed a few bottles, starting at the bar before being seated at our table. We both went for the 4 course tasing menu for $99pp which we thought was fantasic value. The house special Fusili was our favourite and we also... More

Our fault, we arrived late but they held our reservation regardless! never the less it left little time to enjoy all the restaurant had to offer. We explained to our server that we had a play in an hour and what could she do? we had a lovely but quick dinner and made our show!!!

The lunchtime menu is a delightful balance of raw and cooked dishes , portions are not large but quality is the key here and the chef certainly deliver's that. An extensive wine list combined with professional service ensures you will enjoy your meal from start to finish. This restaurant is a high end establishment located next to Central Park ,... More

we (4) visited the restaurant on Thanksgiving evening and after the excellent experience at The Modern restaurant highly disappointed. The staff at the entrance were not helpfull to almost being rude. The person waiting at our table was more of a bar tender than a professinal waiter. The food was below average to being poor and to top this off,... More

One more visit to now two star Marea, still excellent and even better than previously. Delicious raw bar, with a large choice of raw fish and ceviche style starters; amazing pasta with seafood (do not miss sea urchin one and, especially, surprising combinations of octopus and bone marrow) and, naturally, plenty of various fishes. Not cheap but money well spend,... More

Excellent service from very knowledgeable professionals is a crowning touch. Special Occasion was made even more special by this terrific restaurant.

This is a very buzzy, busy and high quality food restaurant and you do pay for that. The ingredients were top notch and served in a very attractive way but as diners we wanted to be told more about each dish. It seems to want to move customers a bit like on a conveyor belt with dishes being delivered and... More
