The upper east side has several Indian restaurants that offer a buffet lunch Andaz is one of them. I went to the buffet last week- the outside of the restaurant has a board that lists the buffet items for that day. I really like their Somoza chat as well as aloo gobi. The other selections included tandoori chicken and chicken... More

Since we haven't been in New York City for quite some time, we made a special effort to visit one of our favorite restaurants in New York. It hasn't changed. It is still the clean, polite, and quietly charming place of previous memory. The food is very very good, well served and something to look forward to. They serve those... More

After reading other reviews finally decided to walk around the corner and give it a try. Nice ambience. Very friendly and helpful service. And, of course the food was surprising, especially the non-standard fare.

Very attentive staff and fantastic food! I stopped here on impulse while looking for lunch. The sign in front advertising the lunch buffet is what got me in but the food is what made me stay. It's some of the best Indian food I've had (and that includes India!) The naan was delicious. I can't wait to return.

Andaz is my favorite Indian restaurant in New York, for the quality of food and good service. The lunch buffet is served seven days in the week.

Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch here during one of New York's winter storms in Feb of 2015. Nice selection of dishes with one or two that I had not tried before. First was an interesting eggplant appetizer and then, amongst the several vegetable dishes, an interesting cabbage bhaji. Last, not least, a fish curry made with Tilapia which had been... More

The place was desolated during lunch, eventhough the area and the city were packed! Service was extremely slow and food was just average. There are plenty places around. I'm sorry beacause the bar seems nice.

Came here for lunch. They had a lunch buffet for 11.95. I decided to try it out. They bring you a bunch of small plates with different dishes. Very good and smart as well. They put the food in front of you so that you can try everything. The owner is very nice as well. Definitely will be back.

This is probably one of the best restaurants around the upper east side and if you like authentic Indian food, you will like Andaz. The service there is excellent. All the food we ordered tasted great with lots of flavour. Tip: next time, we would order a bit more spicy because the mild dishes we ordered were a bit too... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
