A haven in a storm

Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch here during one of New York's winter storms in Feb of 2015. Nice selection of dishes with one or two that I had not tried before. First was an interesting eggplant appetizer and then, amongst the several vegetable dishes, an interesting cabbage bhaji. Last, not... read more

The place was desolated during lunch, eventhough the area and the city were packed! Service was extremely slow and food was just average. There are plenty places around. I'm sorry beacause the bar seems nice.

Came here for lunch. They had a lunch buffet for 11.95. I decided to try it out. They bring you a bunch of small plates with different dishes. Very good and smart as well. They put the food in front of you so that you can try everything. The owner is very nice as well. Definitely will be back.

This is probably one of the best restaurants around the upper east side and if you like authentic Indian food, you will like Andaz. The service there is excellent. All the food we ordered tasted great with lots of flavour. Tip: next time, we would order a bit more spicy because the mild dishes we ordered were a bit too... More

I met a client here on one of those hazy hot humid July days in NYC and enjoyed the cool space visually and otherwise. We sat in a small room to the rear of the rest. had coffees and a small pricey snack. it's a nice oasis in this neighborhood Manhattan. The restrooms are on the 2nd flr ( a... More

The avocado toast is killer! We also had the maple porridge. My daughter and I split both of these items for breakfast. It filled us up and gave a great start to our day. Our waiter was excellent. We asked for milk to put on our porridge. He warmed it up for us and that was great! Look forward to... More

Andaz is a restaurant we go to frequently. It is consistently good (could be a bit spicier). Portions are nice sized, service is friendly and efficient, prices are reasonable. All in all one of our local favorites.

Friendly staff, perfect location with street view of the grand old lady of libraries. Comfortable and busy with fashionable New Yorkers being fashionably busy. Great break from midtown hubbub.if you want quieter, go to the reading room across the street, if you want better coffee, get out your burr grinder at home. I will be back again, for certain. $3.... Excellent food choices such as Bircher muesli, 1st grade fresh fruit, cinnamon infused porridge and superb pancakes etc. A stylish interior design befitting the 5th avenue location enhanced the food and experience. Friendly, knowledgable and welcoming staff. Highly recommended.

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
