Leo and the gang there are fantastic and made a guy and his wife who live in Dallas (we are not Cowboy fans) feel like family! We spend 2 out of 3 nights closing the bar down! Go there....you will love it!

We ended up at Sofia because our original choice was closed due to a broken pipe. Very limited menu, but food was very good. It is very small and intimate. Because it is so small, the table next to us was very close and we felt like we were part of their conversation, a little off-putting, but not terrible. It... More

Sofia was recommended by a staff member of the Kimberly Hotel as being a respite for two weary travelers looking for a late night bite. Cozy atmosphere, good wine selection and tasty appetizers.

After fleeing the hotel "Lounge" (aka dance Club) where we hoped to enjoy the view and light fare, we wandered into Sofia. It's small and a bit crowded but the atmosphere was so warm and comfortable that the crowding seemed intimate. We had the Bruschetta trio with a meat and cheese platter, sipped a nice Sauvignon Blanc and relaxed while... More

One of our favorite places to go and take people who come in from out-of-town. Food is consistently good, atmosphere is great (can be a little loud because the place is very small), and we have always had solid service. Tiramisu is one of the best I've had. There pizza and salad are also excellent. No reservations taken so it... More

i saw some people write this was a romantic spot...not so... at first the dark vibe and small space might make you think it is but with people crowded one on top of another and loud music i do not think so. food is WAY overpriced......ordered appetizers. and a glass of wine...... someone said for a similar price you could... We went to this place in Midtown the day after Christmas. It was full but we got in. This restaurant was in walking distance of our hotel on 50th St. It featured a very basic Italian menu with some interesting small plate items. There were four of us and we ordered the stuffed mushrooms, the meatballs, the artichoke dip, the... More

Great Italian food (meatballs, pizza, bruschetta), excellent service and super cosy place. Just before Xmas it was the perfect place to hang out and have a romantic dinner, we stayed at the bar and the personnel was very attentive. We found it by chance and we were not disappointed. We will go back!

Sofia was all we wanted just after arriving Friday at NYC for the weekend after the Christmas tree lighted up in Rockefeller Center. A place with good food and a great hang-out for the local crowd. We ordered the platter with the best meatballs, bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms, artichokes and more. For dessert the lava cake was excellent. Recommend this place!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
