If you like a small intimate setting this would be a nice choice in Midtown. The bartender was more than generous with his pour, very accomodating with tasting new wines. They are partial to Italian wines which is to my liking. All of their wines they serve are temperature controlled.

My husband and I, along with my siblings, were in NYC just for the day to take in a show and have dinner. We were between events when we realized we wanted to stop somewhere for a drink and found this gem on google maps. This is a cute, small wine bar with well-priced wine, a nice selection, food that... Perfect little neighborhood wine bar, great late night italian snacks. Meatball sliders were the best.

We can't say enough about the Sofia Wine Bar and Cafe. The decor is incredibly charming and everything about the cafe makes you feel welcome and appreciated. We were there on 2 different evenings and all the staff were amazing as was the food and wine. It gets very busy and loud but the staff go out of their way... More

There is no where to sit while waiting for your party and they are VERY insistent, even with empty table wait outside. The place packs em in by 6 ....you will need to shout to have a "conversation"....

Sofia is small, quaint and cosy. On a cold night, it was a lovely find. Pizzas, mac n cheese and tapas are to die. The wines are excellent, the staff are fun, the food is delicious. If you go during peak time, they will squeeze you in somewhere, no matter how busy. You are family!
