A little gem in Turtle Bay

Tiny, tiny place but with huge ambiance! You will be lucky to get a table after 4:30pm any day. If you do, they have great appetizers and a nice selection of wine.

Wine list is not bad but overpriced. We asked what their most famous course was hence We ordered pizza. It definitely looked like pizza but the dough was terrible. I am Italian so I can easily tell.... Overall check was quite steep. The ambience is nice but music is too loud to allow for conversation without having to yell!

This is a GREAT wine bar. Not a bar that serves wine but a wine bar. They have so many great options of wine by the glass and a good selection by the bottle as well. The environment is small but very welcoming. The food is great and the service is as well. I always stop by here for a... More

A small group of co-workers brought me here after work. I was skeptical of food from a wine bar, but left impressed. Sofia is not spacious which is my only complaint. I still give it 5 stars because the food was really good as well as the wine. Sofia is definitely a hidden gem in Manhattan that deserves to be... More

Stopped to this resstaurant just for a glass of wine. Ended up have a couple glasses of wine and just plain delicious food. We had a sampler platter and everything on it was fabulous. The artichoke hearts and stuffed mushrooms were great as welll as the meatballs. The bruchetta was excellent especially the olive tapenade. Went back again and had... More

In NY for business, stopped at Sofia's last night. Food: The food itself is rather good, tasty and portions are decent - European size. I had the Homemade mozzarella and tomato salad for starters, with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar on top, simple and flavorful. I also had the lasagna: rich, hearty and quite good. This is a pricey neighborhood,... More

Godawful/undistinguished/expensive/small portions/served barely warm insult to Italian Cuisine -- but the server was pleasant!

My husband and I came in for wine and a cheese and meat plate and weren't disappointed. The service is great, the selections are varied, and the place is very cozy, not at all touristy.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
