We visited Uncle Jacks this past Monday with friends from out of town. They are still raving about this restaurant! The guys ordered the perfectly cooked and seasoned porterhouse for two. Both said it was the best steak they've ever eaten anywhere! We had the lobster and mahi mahi both were so flavorful and sweet. The appetizers were incredible..we all... More

We have been to Uncle Jack's on West 56th a few times now and they never disappoint. This latest visit was to celebrate my niece's 21st birthday and she was treated to a fabulous melting chocolate dessert and a kir plus the team sang happy birthday to her which was a lovely touch. Whether we come here for lunch or... More

We planned a nice, big family get together during Christmas week last year (12/2014) Our experience at this restaurant could not have been more upsetting unless someone was physically injured. First of all, approximately half of our party's steaks (about 6 people) were severely undercooked. Not a problem in itself, better to air on the side of caution, especially as... More

Pros: Beautiful interior and personable service. Great location. Cons: Very Expensive for quality and quantity of food. Would be fine if using expense account but not with your own wallet. Manhattan prices are over rated and unacceptable at all Restaurants. Why should we have to pay 10 times more for a product when the number of restaurants is innumerable. I... More

Went here one evening while visiting New York for a birthday dinner for my husband. Concierge for Hotel Metro were we where staying recommend it. It didn't disappoint , from moment we sat down the waiting staff made us feel welcome and were very attentive. Didn't catch out waiters name, he had a moustache and was brilliant throughout the meal,... More

I would prefer something like Outback vs. paying $100 for a steak for 2 but the quality of steak is far better than Outback. I would have preferred a better selection of sides as well. Club A Steakhouse has a better selection of sides and much cheaper and the quality is just as good as Jack's. So remember this when... More

Stayed across the street at The Chambers and noticed the sign that claimed "best steak in New York!" So of course I figured that we should try it. The restaurant is beautiful. Tastefully decorated with a lovely ambiance. The service was nice as well, Andre was our server and he was informative and very passionate about the way they cook... More

Overall slow service, had to request bread, then pepper for salad, and finally pepper again for potato. Compare to better restaurants providing or offering all these without request. Strip steak overcooked, requested medium rare, came out medium at best; did not request new steak.

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
