Great place for a big steak!

Starting out with the seafood tower was a perfect compliment to our meal we were about to enjoy! We had a few porter house steaks for 10 of us... Great choice! Add some bacon and it was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful while attending to some of my allergies. I definitely... read more

Food at Bobby Vans is terrific...from tuna to steak you cant go wrong. Its a bit pricey, so be ready, but the quality of the food is amazing. Be sure to stop by the bar and say hello to the bartender Sean...great guy and the reason we always stop by whenever we are in NYC.

There were 4 of us, including our 21 & 16 yr. old sons. My husband & each son ordered a different steak & a side. At the suggestion of our waiter, he said that would be enough food for the 4 of us & if not, he would bring me something to eat. He was right, plenty of food, we... More

If you want a truly great meal with fantastic service, this is the place in NYC. As we arrived we immediately noticed that the service was incredible. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable regarding all of the menu items and the wine list. Our food was impressive in taste and presentation. My wife ordered the salmon but was sorry... More

My husband and I were in the area so decided to have lunch at Bobby Van's Steakhouse. We both had the lobster and shrimp roll which was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. It seems this restaurant caters to many local business people which is an indicator that the quality of food and service... More

Had a wonderful anniversary meal. We were in a hurry to make as how and the wait staff made sure we were done in time. They were so attentive but also let us have a quiet dinner. Food was absolutely amazing!!

Three of us enjoyed perfectly cooked filet mignon with traditional accompanying side dishes - baked potato, grilled vegetables. Only a superb steakhouse can cook steaks this way, seared with almost a crust outside and medium rare tender inside. Nothing disappointed us. If you're craving a meal like this in Manhattan, Bobby Van's is the place to go.

The porterhouse for two is my go to steak at Bobby Vans. It's a beautiful cut with a nice sized filet. It's always tender, succulent and perfectly cooked. The sides are very good and well prepared too but they're your typical steakhouse selections, except for the grilled corn dish which is just terrific. The service is very good.... professional and... We purchased a groupon for a dinner for two complete with a bottle of wine. We were only staying one night in Manhattan so this was our only nice dinner and it was a good choice. We had reservations and were running late due to a delayed train but they were gracious and said no worries. French onion soup was... More

I have been to this Bobby Vans many times. Usually a good time but not tonight. Service was horrible. I asked for a toothpick three times and never got it. I had to beg our waiter to refill our drinks. Food was only ok. Disappointing for the amount of money we paid!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
