Good lunch at a nice restaurant

A colleague and I visited this restaurant for midweek lunch, They have excellent steaks and salads at lunchtime. Portions are substantial and service is very attentive. The bread basket is impressive but don't fill up on bread! The only slight downside is the prices, which are fairly high.

Had an excellent group dinner with a perfect Prix Fixe menu with wine and beer included, $125/pp. The room was large enough for my group of 25. We were seated in a square so it allowed us to see everyone in the room vs. a long table. I had the Skirt Steak, which the marinade was AMAZING, but others in... More

We are staying in midtown and wanted a steak. Went to Bobby Vans. Good steak, nice meal. But I saw other people getting other menus. Asked my waiter after we were finished with our meal. "Oh, it's restaurant week. " and why didn't you tell us? You didnt ask. That's just wrong.

great steak, very noisy atmosphere. the bar area is especially loud and the noise level in the restaurant almost forces you to shout to have a conversation. Okay unless you are looking for a quiet atmosphere. the service is good, the prices are high especially if you let the waiters pick. our waiter kept pushing me to select a $150... More

Lunch for two at Bobby Van's provides all the atmosphere and menu wow that will help you close a deal. Great selections and you can eat a lot or have a salad. This is a great chain of steakhouses but you do not have to have steak to love it. The service is unbeatable. Go there and en

This is a Classic Restaurant with a nice decor and that old school charm. Altough it´s a steak house it´s seem a little on the Italian Style with seafood options. We ordered Salmon with sauteed escarole and herb roasted potatoes, Spaghetti Bolognese and a Linguine Frutti de Mare all of them delicious, especially the Frutti de mare with scallops, and... More

Went here on the recommendation of the hotel Concierge. We thought the steaks were average (supposedly filet mignon... but not so sure). Portions obscenely big. Service a bit impersonal. Quite pricey.

We went there in a party of 10 for a work team dinner. We were installed on the mezzanine. The service is great. The food was also excellent. You want meat? It is the place! I also had a tuna tartare as appetizer and it was delicious. Portions really worth it. Will return!

We were recommended this steakhouse by our hotel and we were not disappointed. I had the crab cakes which was a serving of two very meaty, succulent and tasty cakes. My husband had the sirloin which was perfectly made as ordered and my daughter had the fillet, perfectly cooked. Meal was too generous for desserts. Attentive service but at times... More

I enjoyed a wonderfully prepared grilled Arctic Char. Don't always need to do steak - which Bobby Van's does very well.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
