Porterhouse for Two....Yum!

The porterhouse for two is my go to steak at Bobby Vans. It's a beautiful cut with a nice sized filet. It's always tender, succulent and perfectly cooked. The sides are very good and well prepared too but they're your typical steakhouse selections, except for the grilled corn dish which is just... read more

Had a wonderful anniversary meal. We were in a hurry to make as how and the wait staff made sure we were done in time. They were so attentive but also let us have a quiet dinner. Food was absolutely amazing!!

Three of us enjoyed perfectly cooked filet mignon with traditional accompanying side dishes - baked potato, grilled vegetables. Only a superb steakhouse can cook steaks this way, seared with almost a crust outside and medium rare tender inside. Nothing disappointed us. If you're craving a meal like this in Manhattan, Bobby Van's is the place to go.

We purchased a groupon for a dinner for two complete with a bottle of wine. We were only staying one night in Manhattan so this was our only nice dinner and it was a good choice. We had reservations and were running late due to a delayed train but they were gracious and said no worries. French onion soup was... More

I have been to this Bobby Vans many times. Usually a good time but not tonight. Service was horrible. I asked for a toothpick three times and never got it. I had to beg our waiter to refill our drinks. Food was only ok. Disappointing for the amount of money we paid!

After numerous visits to NYC I happened to see what Groupon had to offer for restaurants. First - the food was amazing and would be worth a trip no matter what but the added bonus was our fabulous waiter Michael Rushiti. He was attentive and so welcoming and recommended the best choices for two people with very different pallets. My... More

My first visit in a few years. This Bobby Vans location caters to hedge fund and private equity guys from Midtown Park Ave offices Monday through Thursday. By Friday through Saturday it slows down. The decor could use a re/do to better attract a weekend crowd. It seems the Wall Street crowd doesn't notice. Bring your appetite. Classic lineup of... More

Had an excellent group dinner with a perfect Prix Fixe menu with wine and beer included, $125/pp. The room was large enough for my group of 25. We were seated in a square so it allowed us to see everyone in the room vs. a long table. I had the Skirt Steak, which the marinade was AMAZING, but others in... More

We are staying in midtown and wanted a steak. Went to Bobby Vans. Good steak, nice meal. But I saw other people getting other menus. Asked my waiter after we were finished with our meal. "Oh, it's restaurant week. " and why didn't you tell us? You didnt ask. That's just wrong.

A colleague and I visited this restaurant for midweek lunch, They have excellent steaks and salads at lunchtime. Portions are substantial and service is very attentive. The bread basket is impressive but don't fill up on bread! The only slight downside is the prices, which are fairly high.

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
