Great tasting food

My husband and I have eaten here 3 times now, once for a light snack - cheeseboard and the lobster bisque and twice for dinner. Having spent a lot of time holidaying in France over the years, I can say the cassoulet is very authentic, the sausage could be a little spicier and chunkier but that's... read more

This lovely spot is just 3 blocks from Columbus Circle on the corner of 55th. We're eaten there several times over the last few years, and every meal has been absolutely delicious. I especially love the beet salad (for a whole meal), and the croque monsieur. The decor is so clever and interesting. The service is excellent. It's not a... More

Except for one pet peeve, this is a very nice place to have lunch or dinner near Lincoln Center. Today we had the Prix Fixe lunch for under $30 - cheese puffs, croque monsieur, ile flotante, coffee for her, salad, burger and espresso with a Sambucca for him (no dessert). All dishes were fine and enjoyable. Things can get pricey... More

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Our waitress was lovely. Attentive at just the right moments. I ordered the halibut with mushroom risotto - very good. My husband ordered the scallops - which were amazing! Recommended!

We came for cognac and dessert. As the name implies, they have a separate menu just for cognacs. The ones we chose were distinctive. We split a creme brulee which was very good. It's also a nice place for brunch, which they start serving at 10AM. They do eggs (including omelettes) well.

We came here for a very early dinner with a larger group and were very happy with our experience. The waiters were very attentive and efficient, the wine was exquisite and the starters didn't disappoint (cheese puffs and goat cheese/tomato tart). One of us was a fan of the chicken paillard and I became a fan of the tuna tartare,... More

I've walked past this Broadway staple for many years and always wanted to try it. A few weekends ago, I stopped in with my wife for lunch on our way to a show. The fact the only thing I really remember about the place is that it was expensive...overpriced for what you get...tells you everything you need to know. Oh,... More

We stopped for a glass of wine and some cheese before David Letterman. Quite, wonderfully polite, excellent selection of wines by the glass; thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

Went for dinner. Service seemed nice although our waiter refused to check with the chef regarding preparing fish for my wife plain grilled. The decor was nice, the food tasty but I ordered the beef and the portion was pretty small. Add to that the high price and the value to this place just isn;t there. The food isn't that... More

Best, authentic taste croissants i've ever had in NYC. Visit every trip to Manhattan.Bakery is Adjacent to Brasserie and croissants are never more than a few minutes out of the oven in the morning. Brasserie Cognac serves great french food lunch and dinner and has a nice reasonably priced brunch on weekends, also.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
