What a wonderful dining experience. Surprised to find such a great dining experience close to our hotel, The Wellington, that had a great menu and delicious food as well as a great wine list. I had salad with chicken and a great glass of wine. The creme brulee was outstanding too. Above all the meal was inexpensive, especially in New... More

Excellent food, efficient staff. Fairly informal, but not totally (they wear black tie and all that). Friendly. Good chardonnay by the glass. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for..

This sounded like a nice French Brasserie, but something was missing here. Food was okay, but not at all like you would be served in any restaurant in France. Watered down, maybe? Pretty expensive fare, but then all NYC restaurants are, especially on Broadway. Tasted okay, but overall, meh. Service was slow also.

We tried Cognac for the first time on our last visit to NYC after our conceige recommended. The restaurant is only a block away from where we stay when in the city. We were pleasantly surprised -- we didn't realize what a nice littel find it was so close to where we stay and to Times Square. Our server was... More

I was very surprised at how lovely our dinner was considering some of the negative reviews here. Everything was wonderful--from the service to the food. We were given some free appetizers and the waiter was very attentive. My salad was delicious and salmon was cooked perfectly. No one in our party had any complaints about their food at all. We... Located on broadway in the 50's it offers some decent bistro fare , excellent drinks and a bakery. There are some good prix fixe deals and good spot for brunch. This tends to be a hangout for happy hour as the bar is large and stocked.

We took out of town guests to Cognac Tuesday evening for dinner. The service was slow to start and then got worse. Our appetizer we ordered, took a long time but the bread basket took even longer. We had to ask for it 3 times. Our waiter spent a great deal of time at the POS computer and we had... More

We had dinner here with a friend our first night in NYC. It is a nice atmosphere, not too loud, easy for conversation. Three of us ate for $150 including a $50 bottle of wine. The lobster bisque was not very good, but the beet salad, sea scollops and Branzino grill were very good. Service was a bit spotty.

I was traveling for business and we had lunch at this restaurant based upon the recommendation of the concierge. The food was incredible, the wait staff was attentive (not wonderful, but adequate) and the atmosphere was lovely. I would like to return for a romantic dinner .. It was a wonderful little find.
