Great View

Read these mixed reviews with trepidation given I'm not normally a fan of hotel lobby bars. We had a table booked in the window and the view is amazing, which added to our first night in NYC. Opted for 3 tapas dishes; falafel, dim sum bento and the wagyu beef sliders. While on the slightly... read more

A friend invited me to the Lobby Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental in NYC for their afternoon tea. I was very excited, as the setting seemed perfect, and having stayed at other Mandarin Oriental properties, I was sure this would be a memorable experience. First--making a reservation is a very disorganized affair. My friend has to call no less than... More

We were guests at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel so dropped by the lobby lounge for cocktails. Both nights we waited at least 10 minutes before we we were even acknowledged by a waiter. Then the service continue to be poor with no one ever checking on drinks . At this venue and these prices such poor and uninterested service is... More

No words to explain this experience. Go there and see by yourself. It will be the best $20 drink of your life.

Okay, this is lounge is located in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel ($$$$), so don't expect cheap or even mid-range drinks. With that said, the seating area is sumptuous and intimate, mixed drinks/cocktails were very good (at $22 each), and the ambiance was simply heavenly. This is the place to have a drink and take advantage of the gorgeous views from... More

Love this lobby lounge. Perfect view of the city and central park combined with a bottle of Champagne (prosseco) $70 and chocolate covered strawberries (which the gave us complimentary) made this a perfect stop after a day of sight seeing.

Poor service over priced drinks. I eventually gave up and left what I thought the drinks cost and left.the drink was overpriced and watered down. Not worth it will not return.the londge offered a wonderful few of central park and probably better service but they were unable to accommodate are request to sit in the lounge.

I met my friend for drinks, and fortunately we had looked at the menu online so were prepared for the prices. $22 for a cocktail. $19 for a well drink. They give you complimentary nibbles of almonds and what amounts to about 8 miniscule potato chips to share for the table. The views actually make it worth the splurge, at... More

I brought my mum to NYC and stayed at the MO. So for the first night, we had a light dinner of bento dim sum comprising 3 vege (not Chinese but tis okay) dumplings, 3 har kow (very authentic, skin paper thin) and 3 (sort of) meat dumplings (again nice thin skin and quite lovely), Korean seafood pancake (comforting) and... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
