Description: In July 2007, New York welcomes Johnny Utah's, the urban cowboy experience, to Rockefeller Center. The Johnny Utah's experience begins with cuisine full of flavors & spices which embody the real meaning of Southwestern food. With hearty recipes of our cultural ancestors, Johnny Utah’s will offer a menu full of zesty Texan BBQ ribs, savory steak fajitas, & authentic Mexican tequila. Almost every seat in the house has a view of the dining room’s main attraction, Manhattan’s only mechanical bull. Showcasing the full essence of the Southwestern theme, the beast is theatrically surrounded with cascading metal chains & burning candles that echo “rings of fire,” signifying the celebration of the icon. The interior was designed as an interpretation of an old western mining shaft with salvaged antique tiles & pony-hide furniture. Johnny Utah’s is sure to serve as an ideal location for both delicious Southwestern food & drinks, & late night reveling & bull riding.

We waited forever to get our food, the service was horrible and once we finally got our food, it was only mediocre. So many other great restaurants to try. This one was overrated!

Went for lunch special as it's in the neighborhood of the office. Good price for lunch, however, service was lackluster and they didn't have everything offered on the lunch menu. We all got a beer, mine was hot. When I asked for a cold one, the waitress agreed that it was hot as they just put them in the cooler... More

Average food, good and tasty coctails, great fun on the BULL, but the music is WAY too loud. Have to be ready to drink a lot to tolerate that loud music. Great fun to watch people go on the bull and my friend tried it and had a lot of fun.

We went to Johnny Utah's as they profess to being a country music bar. When we got there it was a dive. Two women were being carried out by bouncers as they couldn't walk, one had even badly cut her head! We had to queue for over 20 mins to get in. There was a $10 entrance fee (I should... More

Calling for reservations I think is recommended if you are looking to sit and dine while watching drunk patrons conquer the bull. The service was great and the shot girl we had that night was very entertaining and kept us laughing. The drinks were on point the food was average. The atmosphere was great because the place was packed and... More

Rock center can get pricey. If you are from out of town...or local. In the area wound traditional happy hour. Walk downstairs and pertinence utah's. A cool place, that is difficult o find at irst. The mechanical bull is great to ride or watch others. Fun atmosphere...for adults only. Food is average . Not too pricey, with all things considered.

I booked a table for the first stop on a bachelorette party night out. I pre-ordered some appetizers for the table so everyone made sure to eat and had the open bar option. The drinks were flowing, but the food was mediocre and barely eaten because it was gloppy and unappetizing. Go for fun, not for food.

We went on a onday evening so probably not fair to rate the restaurant too poorly on atmosphere, there were only a few tables, but I can imagine on a jumping Thursday or Friday this could be a great place to be. Given my experience I would definitely go back fro drinks, but I would give the food a miss.... More

We went on a Saturday around 12:30 and it was kind of eerie in the place. Waitress told us to sit wherever we liked. Took our drink order, said they did not have any tea or coffee made-long story. We ordered sodas and came back to tell us straight up that the drinks were on the house because the cook... More

I am torn on this experience. The food was ok (I had the hushpuppies and the chicken fried steak. The hushpuppies were the best.). The atmosphere is not what I was expecting (sort of a Western roundup style, which was entertaining but strange for NYC). I suppose that my only concern is that the food was pretty expensive, even for... More
