Don't normally eat this much for lunch. It was just as good as the last time. Service was particularly good. The beef for two was a real study in excess.

This is a beautifully designed room. The tables are quite close together. Always a great place to dine. Staff went out of their way to be considerate. I said I was cold & they brought me a cup of hot water with lemon. My friend explained she could not eat the bread as she had to eat gluten free products.... More

We went to see an exhibition at MOMA, followed by dinner in the Bar Room, before going off to Broadway. I thought the service was excellent and the food was very good. My husband and I shared an eggplant appetizer that had very unique flavors and was delicious. I had the sea scallops for my main course and they were... More

this is a classy restaurant. excellent food and very attentive service. we ate in the bar room as we wanted a more modest meal without sacrificing quality. this was delivered in spades. The wine list is extensive but very pricey. not everyone wants to spend over $100 a bottle for a light meal. the few i recognised were marked up... More

first time lunch here with wife and friends. the friends paid - fortunately. expensive. but it's NYC and it's the MOMA. it's the entire experience that has to be enjoyed - the decor, environment, staff, and the people. some dressed for show, some for themselves. a lot of very old people; women wearing big diamonds and a lot of gold... At the last minute, my client dinner in the main restaurant had to reschedule and become a lunch in the bar room (since I could not get us lunch in the restaurant). I was a little nervous about how the "bar room" would handle a business lunch with the thought of art gallery tourists packed in. Actually, it worked out... More

A new chef took over in February and the menu has evolved to be less Alsatian with more veggie dishes and some great new entrees. My roasted zucchini with some seared gnocchi and whipped ricotta was sublime and the poached branzino with potato coins very light and tasty. Some might find that portion too small, but for me it was... More

We ate there on a Sunday for lunch, directly after visiting MOMA for the morning. Only the Bar Room was available for lunch. The wine was superb and service was wonderful. The food was delicious. The portions were however small so do order more than just the mains.

We had a lovely evening in the Bar Room at "the Modern" (part of Moma). It's an amazing place. When we were waiting beforehand at the bar, we felt like we were in an episode of Sex in the City. Lots of bright young things all around. It's a glam place. Every dish was delicious. Complex, intense flavours. Very sophisticated... More
