Located in a strip of restaurants, we chose La Mediterranee for an appealing interior, and some possible options for a vegetarian. It was a lucky choice as the food was pretty good, our vegetarian ate well and the resident piano player was entertaining but not intrusive. Prices were reasonable particularly given the bonus of the music, and ambience was very... More

This is my favorite spot in the city! My boyfriend and I come at least once a month, the steak and fries are delicious! Harold on the piano is great :) Very cozy and romantic and the staff is friendly and kind :) Mario treats us like family when we walk in, they know us by name. I recommend this... More

La Mediterranee is one those restaurants one goes to when good food, at a reasonable price and the ability to hold a civilized conversation without resorting to American Sign Language to get above the roar of the madding crowd. Ernesto runs a nice establishment and his kitchen is more than up to the task of classic bistro fare. On the... More

We were seated quickly and had a good meal. We started with a nice cheese and fruit plate and I followed this with the steak au poivre which was very good. Unfortunately, we were seated in the front window and the bartender was our waitress. There were a number of people in the bar, so this didn't work. The piano... More

Four of us spent time visiting New York City and ate several dinners here. They have a Fixed Price Menu that is only $28 before 6:30 or $38 after that. The Trout Almadine was wonderful as was the Onglet Steak. The appetizers were great and the Raspberry Sorbet for dessert was to die for. We all loved coming here.

For our final dinner in Manhattan, we picked La Mediterranee because it has live music in the dining room. It actually was a return visit for us; we ate there a year ago on our first trip to New York. We enjoyed the food and the music the first time and decided to try again. We encountered a slight cultural... More

Recommended by the concierge at the Kimberly. Pleasant atmosphere, Well run, good staff and first rate food. Had moules marinere And provencale. Large portions, but we managed to finish each order. Frites were done the right way; thin, crisp outside with tender insides. Onion soup was good, but not great. Mixed green salad was crisp and fresh.

Went here for lunch and back again anothr day for dinner. The staff were incredibly friendly and accomodating on both occassions. And the food was marvelous, especially the Coq Au Vin! And a special treat was the piano player in the evening. The prices are very reasonable.

Decided to try a restaurant out of our usual home circle. So happy we did! This is a lovely restaurant from service to atmosphere to food. We tried the red snapper special and shared the beet salad special. Outstanding! Portions are larger than most places and a glass of wine is that...a glass vs. a trickle! Also, the Martinis were... Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
