Decided to try a restaurant out of our usual home circle. So happy we did! This is a lovely restaurant from service to atmosphere to food. We tried the red snapper special and shared the beet salad special. Outstanding! Portions are larger than most places and a glass of wine is that...a glass vs. a trickle! Also, the Martinis were... We met friends in NYC and decided to have a dinner together: 8 persons, no reservation, 7H30 PM, and it was raining outside. We were desperately running and wet from one place to the other. We ended at La Méditerranée. The owner managed to welcome us in his busy bistro within a few minutes, reflecting the American efficacy! The menu... More

My excellent review is based on food value, ambiance and service. Their fixed price menu is a very good deal.

We've been there twice. First because we wanted just a quick appetizer but not a fast food. The onion soup was perfect for a long day. The 2nd visit was with the whole family and we took all the typical french dishes. The pianist (Harold) plays a perfect music while tasting a very delicious french cuisine. The desserts are great,... Great location and quaint setting. Very romantic. The menu is limited. The lobster ravioli is not very good. No texture or flavor. The price Fixe dinner is a great value. I had the french onion soup, which was excellent. The skirt steak entree, which was average, and the chocolate souffle, excellent. The piano player was good until the singer started... More

I was charmed by the cozy bistro decor & solicitous servers. Then a pianist started playing. We nursed a few drinks for an hour and then had a leisurely dinner. The glasses of wine were very generous. The three course dinner was good not great but the overall experience was reminiscent of a Paris bistro. Forget the soufflé and stick... More

Looking for a high quality, very affordable, comfortable and intimate (cozy) fine French Bistro we came across La Mediterranee French Bistro, just a few blocks off of Park Ave. Without a reservation on a Wednesday night we were seated and served promptly to wonderful entrees, including a mussels Provencal that was perfect. Nice wine selection and the piano player was... More

I remember eating once in this place in the early 90’s when I first moved to the neighborhood. It was dreadful: lousy food, dated décor and unacceptable service. I never went back, after all there are so many wonderful places to eat in this great City of ours! Sadly, on a rainy Saturday recently, I find myself in front of... More

It's a small and, therefore, cozy place. There's nothing too special about the food or service, but it's not a bad place to get a simple dinner with a few friends. The dishes we ate were tasty.
