Very convenient if you are staying at the Hilton

DH and I had lunch here just before taking a cab back to the airport, and really enjoyed it. We had good food and good service. This is a nice quiet oasis in the middle of Times Square and is certainly a convenient place to eat for anyone staying at the Hilton. Lunch seemed pricey at $55 for two... read more

This restaurant has a tasty menu and an extensive wine list. The ambiance is nice but not spectacular. The antipasto salad and cheese appetizer were delicious. The main courses were average sized portions put in huge bowls. The clams in the clam sauce had sand but I assume there is nothing that can be done about that. The Bolonese was... More

Having just arrived at the Hilton after a long journey, we were looking forward to a meal here. Unfortunately, one member of our party has a number of serious food allergies. Having spotted something on the menu that looked unlikely to contain any of the allergens, we asked anyway (as we always have to do) … However, the answer came... More

Conveniently located in the Hilton Times Square on the 21st floor. I had breakfast, average fare, helpful wait staff. A bit dated look and feel. Not fine dining but for for business travelers, pretty standard.

One of my favorite places in New York City to have drinks or dinner. The view overlooks 42nd Street and the old NY Times building. I come here regularly after work with friends and the bar and wait staff at Above are the best in the city, especially Ernestine, Walcott and Sylvester.

I suppose the view from the 15th floor is ok. But, even though the food is of good quality the decor needs to be refurbished as the state of your surroundings as well as the quality of your food makes up the whole of your dining experience.

Above is located at 234 west 42nd St. In the Hilton a Garden Inn. We are NYers and we find this restaurant to be centrally located to all that a Times Square has to offer. The tables by the window provide a good view since the restaurant is on a high floor of the hotel. The staff is friendly and... More

Went to restaurant above for lunch during restaurant week. The staff didn't know if they were a part of restaurant week and were confused for a good 5 minutes. We were escorted to a lounge when we were clearly there for a meal and was told we would be served by the bartender. We sat there for about 20 minutes... More

I met some business colleagues for breakfast at Above, since I was staying at the Hilton. The food was good, but the server was slow and forgot our bacon orders. We had a window table, and the view was very nice.

We keep returning to this lovely spot. The new renovation is spectacular - much cozier and better lit. Also the bar's new format makes it less noisier. The food is always excellent but the best part of our visit is our waiter, Flakron. When he sees us walk in he is already ordering our drinks, which he always remembers. He... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
