Cute and tasty!

My friends and I came here for breakfast for majority of the days we were in New York. The french toast is still my favourite to this day. The sausage and eggs, too, had a very distinct yet absolutely delicious flavour to them. The only downfall was the slow service. It took quite some time for us... read more

Being finicky about my wine choices, I was thrilled to see a Macon-Fuisse '13 from Verget on the By-the-Glass list at this unpretentious, tile-floored bistro in the Theater District. My wife and I had shrugged and settled (so we thought) for this unassuming place after striking out at two other places in the area. We were totally enchanted by, A)... More

We were going to a Broadway show at 3 pm so just wanted to find a nearby place for a quick lunch, or brunch as it turned out. This place looked rather old fashioned but otherwise acceptable, and being off 8th Ave somewhat removed from the overly noisy Times Square area. It's a medium sized restaurant, with several dining rooms,... More

I had an early diner last week at this place. The hostess was not overly friendly but ok. The waiter was very attentive, friendly and discreet. I ordered the steak tartare and it was one of the best i have ever had. The lettuce, fries were delicious as well. The apple pie despite having been warmed up was not so... More

I offer my standard disclaimer for any restaurant review I have done........I hate, Hate, HATE to travel, and I prefer a "meat and potatoes" meal that is simple. The more complext or experimental a restaurant might be, the less I am going to like it. This was the case for Brasserie Athenee, located on W. 46th and 8th Avenue in... More

We stopped by for small bites after seeing "Finding Neverland" we each had a bowl of French onion soup and shared a cheese plate. Both were ok but nothing special. Also the waiter seemed very disinterested and slow even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all..almost dead?

We really enjoyed our meal at the Athenee. After pizza and burgers for a few days the girls wanted a nice fish course and we certainly had a good choice here. The waiter was very jovial and offered some excellent tips on places to visit. His suggestion for Sunday afternoon in Central Park was brilliant.

We went here on our last day for breakfast. I had pancakes, you get three, quite large nice and thick and tasted lovely. Also given a large bowl of fresh fruit which was a nice extra touch. You get endless refills on your coffee and they are quick to serve and refill your cup. Agree with other comments that they... More

We had a great breakfast here, with superb service. Lovely food, just 5 minutes from major sights. Very good sized fruit bowls included with French toast. Yummy!

Who makes a Bellini with only peach liquor and champagne? They do. The service was subpar at best. The food was ok...Our hotel concierge recommended and we listened. Our concierge has been discredited.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
