As londoners on a short break to New York, we were advised a 10% tip for good service was expected. Our food was average, the beef bourguignon not at all described and bland, the sea bass overcooked. Ready to leave after our bill totalled 70 usd we left a 7usd tip only to be told it was not enough and... More

Maybe no place in Manhattan is cheap for breakfast, but on a Saturday morning when the sidewalks were packed, and every coffee shop and bakery had lines of people pushing to grab a high stool next to a narrow table, this was an oasis of peace. Less expensive food than the hotel coffee shop and the crazy busy shops nearby,... More

This restaurant was close to our hotel on Times Square and looked a little more up-scale than other restaurants on 8th Street. It has that typical French brasserie feel…tables close together with lots of noise. As a note, they need a second door to the entrance. It was cold outside and every time the front door opened, you could feel... More

After dining lavishly on a 14 day cruise and 3 dinners in NYC, this was the best food we found anyplace. Price was reasonable, service impeccable and two blocks from the theater. What more could you want in New York City?

Just off Broadway. A must go prior to your show. Greek / Mediterranean cuisine. Good service. The food! The Mediterranean Tapas plate made a great dinner. Mussels with fries were plentiful and very well done. The lamb shank tender and tasty. Get the Retsina Greek wine - a perfect pairing.

It was a rainy day and my wife and I didn't know where to eat mid morning while walking around the Times Square area and happen upon this place. One good thing is that they serve a nice brunch time frame so were able to eat a nice breakfast at about 11:00 a.m. The hours listing on there is wrong... More

This is one of those times when I wished TripAdvisor allowed a rating of zero. I stopped off at this establishment after the matinee of a play. It looked inviting and even the name - Brasserie Athenee - reminded me of memorable experiences in Paris. (The Hotel Athénée in Paris is one of the best hotels in that amazing city.)... More

Came here with 8 friends and even got separate checks, not sure on how quickly served or how hungry, I ordered two appetizers, sautéed chicken livers and Mediterranean plate, both of which were excellent, chicken livers with onions to perfection and three dips for fresh pita bread (enough for all dips): yogurt with cucumber, salmon, and hummus, together with olives.... The food is good here and well worth it. For $10 I had 2 eggs, home fries, toast, bacon, sausage or ham. Everything was hot and the location in the theatre district was a big advantage. We were lucky. We did not have the poor service other reviewers have mentioned. In fact the waiter came over to us to say... More
