I struggled with the rating of this restaurant because there were several shortcomings, but the benefits outweighed the cost in my opinion. The food was excellent. Went for brunch and had some really fabulous french toast - with a honey syrup. Some of my more expeditious friends gave a try to ostrich sausage and another traditional sausage plate. Both very... I was somewhat between a three star and a four star with this place as honestly it was a solid 3 1/2 star visit. The only thing that made it not a four star for me was that the service was somewhat slow (it took an hour and a half to get through dinner and we had already told them... More

i think/hope they meant well, but the food here was just mediocre (and lukewarm) and the service was ATROCIOUS. The name of this place conjured up fond memories of a real braai I'd had with friends in South Africa. This experience left me and a guest visiting from London feeling let down to say the least.

I am just back in my hotel room after a disappointing and overpriced experience in Braai. Whilst we were seated quickly, we then had to wait for quite some time before our order was taken. The food was good, not great, and it is quite expensive for what you get. Also, a 23% gratuity was added onto the bill before... More

Just down the street from 8th Avenue, this restaurant takes you to South Africa with it's great food and wine. I had the Chicken Bobotie which is every bit as good as the beef version I had in Cape Town. If you are into South African food and wine don't miss Braai!

Small and cozy, good tapas - don't over-order, the portions are large and don't miss the octopus. Good selection of South African wines. Little front garden is a bit tight but it's nice having some outdoor space; there's also a back, sky-light lit area, that feels more light and airy than the main part, but it's right by the kitchen... We visited braai for a Saturday brunch. I looked at their website and was excited to have some good old South African food. When we got to the restaurant I had to do a double take, I thought we were in the wrong place. It looks nothing like the pictures on the website. More like a stripped down former restaurant.... More

We went last for dinner and were utterly disappointed. The bobotie was awful:( and I am South African. The fish (hake fillet) was not good at all and the Moz peri peri prawns sadly were a let down too! Save your pennies and try another spot.
