Hooked on Haru

I have been to the Haru on Amsterdam Ave, in Times Square and, most often, in FiDI. In total, I have eaten at Haru easily more than 100 times, and can highly recommend it to the Trip Advisor community. The sushi/sashimi portions are substantial and there's a wide selection of rolls. Haru also... read more

Went here for a light meal so chose the sashimi which was good value and enough to eat compared to the portions you get in Europe. Although not the cheapest the pieces were quite large and assorted fish dish was sufficient for an evening meal. My wife had the ceviche and thought it was very good although my son had... More

I usually do not like chain restaurants, but Haru is the exception. They have amazing happy hour deals and amazing sushi! I highly recommend any of their special rolls.

I'm not a sushi person but my boyfriend is and since we were staying at the beautiful Andaz I yelped near by places and found Haru! We loved it!! He had every type of sushi you can think off and he was beyond satisfied. I had the calamari salad and it was delicious. They even brought a little desert with... More

Is it the best Japanese in town? Obviously not. But, it has an extensive menu, very well priced, and great tasting. Try the popcorn shrimp and the King crab dumplings, they are really good. And at around $7 per roll, I say their sushi and rolls are excellent value for money! Nice place too! It's actually the place were John... More

HARU is a nice place to have an after work meeting and for us the Happy Hour reduced price appetizer menu is affordable. However, in order to be fair to HARU, we almost have to break this into two reviews. In short, HARU fails in the Sushi department, at least to those who are students of GREAT NYC Sushi and... More

Another great meal! Our group enjoyed fluke, king salmon, and several rolls loved it all. We did not care for the chicken dumblings.

Since a part of my family was at Haru several days ago, my mother made a comment to the hostess (Rachel) that she was bringing more family to their restaurant. The hostess was very grateful and she gave us 2 free appetizers on the house. The restaurant had an average crowd but the service seemed a bit slow. Our server... More

We went to Haru sushi 2 times now. The quality of the sushi is pretty good and the way how the sushi is presented very appealing. However, the service was surprisingly bad, the waiters slow and it took ages to get our food and then not even at the same time. And this is pretty uncommon. All in all, prices... More

I am always trying the duck dishes at different restaurants. There duck spring rolls and crispy duck are so very tasty. Serve in a unique way, very tender with an excellent flavor. Some the best I have eaten. My goes for the sushis which also are excellent . Not real expensive but worth every penny. Will go again when I... More
