Description: Welcome to the nanking restaurant to experience the hospitality of this...
Welcome to the nanking restaurant to experience the hospitality of this ancient city of China ! Nanking is a city about equal distance from Canton and Peking. In 1842, after nanking was captured by the British, Sir Henry pottinger signed the nanking treaty. What followed thereafter was an era where various eating places opened up for visitors to enjoy the hospitality of this region. The food was modified to suit the palette of the visitors to entice them to come back to these eating places. This fusion cuisine became very popular. It is our humble endeavor at nanking Restaurant to bring you the same historical fusion taste, and hospitality from ancient China. We extend a very warm welcome to you and will make every effort to make your visit enjoyable and memorable.

We have eaten in this restaurant 3 times, the food was always tasty and the service adequate. It is possible to order a takeaway as well. Try also the Japanese tap beer, which is surprisingly good, especially in the hot days.

Restaurant is in the heart of Times Square, Broadway and 4th. It is a chinese and thai restaurant. We went for an early bird special. However, the service is extremely slow. If you have to be somewhere leave early for the restaurant. My husband is a vegetarian and he was happy as he had lots of choices. Food was very... More

Nice ambiance and kind of attentive staff. Had some interesting starters (info chinese), wings were tasty as was the chilli paneer (Indian cheese), not impressed by the grilled shrimp (tasted like something ready made in a supermarket that was flash baked).Main course was a glutinous mess despite have three different dishes all seemed to have the same sauce over it,... We liked the food , and the service. It is a small place with limited seating but we got right in . We ordered Phad Thai and Ginger chicken and both were excellent. The prices were reasonable. We would eat there again !

We were looking for somewhere to eat after a visit to Central Park. (We had walked past & dismissed several) The person outside of the establishment made it sound OK so we tried. The service inside was very good with everyone knowing their job & doing it well. The cocktails were well made & the waiter knew his menu &... More

Stumbled upon this by chance, directly behind our hotel. Offered fixed price three courses for $15, and beer for $2. Food was very tasty, apart from ice cream which had no flavour, generous portions. Service was good, friendly. Would use again.

Loved the food. Wife and I tried 2 types of lobster (with black bean sauce and spicy szechuan) and they were fantastic. The experience would have been 5-star if the staff had been just a tad more friendly. Overall great experience, I recommend them without hesitation.

The Hot and Sour Soup was probably the best U have ever had...it had a great kick to it. I also enjoyed the Vegetable Pad Thai. My waitress did a good job too. I am so glad I checked this place out after seeing Wolf Hall next door at the Winter Garden Theatre.

Went to Nanking for a pre-show lunch. Service was very slow and food was so bland. Had chicken and broccoli, which is pretty standard. It was not good. The staff is unorganized and not very knowledgeable about the menu. Way better places for decent Chinese food in the area. I would not recommend or go back.

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy.
