Typical New York Diner

Just as I imagined a New York diner would, sound, feel, smell and taste. We went here for breakfast, we were seated in seconds, and service was excellent. The menu was what you'd expect and the coffee kept flowing. Great value.

We went for breakfast and returned again and again. They got the orders absolutely right...the food came fast and was delicious and the prices reasonable. They have a lot of servers and cooks and it is obvious each is trained very well and know their way around the restaurant. Hats off to you.

We had a good breakfast at Applejack. As it was a nice morning we sat outside. Traditional diner breakfast food. The wait staff was friendly and quick, even thought the restaurant was busy. The prices were commensurate with what one would expect in Manhattan. They had a nice selection of fresh fruit (not canned or jarred) which was pleasant. Got... More

We had breakfast at Applejack's diner and were not disappointed. I had the eggs with corned beef hash and it was very tasty. My husband had pancakes and said they were good too. Service was fast and the prices were reasonable for midtown Manhattan. We would go back.

Stopped here on a whim as we walked by. Staff was friendly. We sat outside and it was nicely done. Food was okay... nothing awful nothing special. Pricey for items we purchased. NO children's meals.

Headed to the Applejack Diner for our last goodbye breakfast before our long journey back to Perth, WA. What can I say? What a way to go out, service was fast and pleasant with the food being sent out timely, hot and delicious!

Ordinary American comfort food isn't always easy to find in midtown Manhattan. After several days of ethnic food, pizza and deli sandwiches, we found Applejack and were delighted to find an open-faced turkey platter on the menu. Real white meat turkey and plenty of it. Best, and least expensive, dinner we had during our entire visit. Unfortunately, we didn't find... More

I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Although it is conveniently located, it is a poor excuse for a diner. I have eaten here several times over the years and the quality keeps deteriorating. I tried breakfast again, hoping against hope. My omelette was burnt, my toast was burnt and the prices are way too high for... More

Had all three meals here on various days over our vacation. Very basic cafe/diner atmosphere. Big menu with a bunch of selections. The cheese tortelinni with alfredo sauce is FANTASTIC as was the chicken ceaser salad. Ham and cheese omelette is average, probably wouldn't reorder. Beware however the desserts, they look fantastic in the case but the apple pie was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
