Very Good Dinner

This is a very simple restaurant between Times Square and Penn Station. The dish I ordered, pork with sauteed green beans, slightly spicy, was very good. Our waitress was professional and pleasant. When we arrived at 5:30 very few people were there but by the time we left it was full.

The food here is amazing! Excellent value... Can recommend the Lo Mein (which is like Chow Mein in the UK) and the General Tso's Chicken! Also the happy hour for cocktails lasts from 4-8pm everyday and cocktails are only $4.50.. so cheap for NYC and really tasty! Can't wait to go back to Gingers!

We ate here last weekend. Everything was really very good. We had spicy chicken, calamari in black bean sauce and lo mien. The food had a nice spice flavor, and there was plenty to eat. The service was polite and speedy. If in Midtown again, I would seek this restaurant out for lunch or dinner. They have a full bar,... More

With limited time and unwilling to brave the cold weather, I stopped at Ginger's on 7th Avenue between 37th & 38th for some Chinese food. Although the hostess who seated me was courteous, the servers were slow and just on the edge of surly, and I observed that other diners were experiencing the same poor quality of service. The food... Not only was this the most disappointing meal of our trip, it was also one of the worst meals I’ve had! From start to finish, the staff were rude and unprofessional and the food wasn’t much better. When we were shown to our table our menus were thrown at us. When the waitress came to take our order, she was... More

Was really craving chinese food new years day. We stumbled upon this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. The place looked fine, it was busy and clean. The food was the strangest I have ever had. I ordered sweet and sour chicken... the chicken was an entire breaded chicken breast that was sliced into thin strips. My friend... More

Was here a little while ago with my aunt for my annual birthday trip, I have to say that the food was absolutely amazing! I don't know what all of these people are talking about with their bad reviews! I think it's a case of making complaints just for the sake of it! Picky eaters! The food was amazing, so... More

We were looking for a noodle bar and found this Szechuan and Chinese restaurant. This is real chinese food to me, not the americanized fast food, over-the-counter. Everything we saw and ate was incredible. We had 2 different noodle soups. And a visiting family member had a meal. The food was very fresh and well seasoned and prepared. This is... More

The menu is varied and the food is good. The service was adequate and prompt. Maybe it was the party crowd before Christmas, but the place was exceptionally noisy to the point of bordering on unruly. Also could have been the happy hour drinks. No one seemed to care. I couldn't hear the conversation at my table.

Went here mostly because it was late and most other places were packed or closed. Food was good. Those expecting huge portions will be disappointed, but we were happy. Service was a bit too stiff but it wasn't a problem. Will probably come back.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
