An urban explorer discovery

Strolling around our hotel neighbourhood we found this Ginger's. Simple ambiance, and a very interesting menu. We ate dumplings, fried/cooked to the correct degree, and asked for a steamed fish. Food was great, and we decided to continue. Chef's special Shrimp with loofah - what is this? The... read more

Great chinese food that's reasonably priced. Had spicy beef stew noodles and it's as good as anything I had before. Portion is generous.

It has been awhile since I have been to Ginger's and since it was close to my hotel I went back. The portions were extremely generous, it was delicious, and Penny my server was exceptional In my opinion it is one of the best values in New York.

Food was pretty good. Service was pretty good but not great. When the waitress was talking to the people at the next table, she put her hand on my table and leaned. She did this three times while I was eating.

A few folks that i know have gone to this place a few times for lunch / dinner. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced but the portions aren't the largest. Typically we order General Tso's Chicken for both dinner and lunch. Their dinner portions are definitely larger and OK to share with someone, but are much more expensive. Food is... More

I have been going to this place for many years, as I used to work about 6 blocks down 7th Avenue. This place is a great deal. Is it the best Chinese food in NYC? Not hardly, but it is very good, fresh and flavorful. Their happy hour drink deals are unbeatable! $4.50 drinks- strong drinks...Zombies, Mai Tais, etc. Their... More

Great food, very well priced for the portion sizes! Lots to choose from & friendly staff. My Dad had the seafood with fried noodles & it was packed with seafood. My sweet & sour chicken couldn't have had more meat in if it tried! Really nice.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
