Cool atmosphere in Soho with open views of the street

I normally go here in a visit to New York and have their 'Steak Frites' - Its always great, and on a warm summers afternoon the doors are open so that you can soak up a but of the afternoon Soho breeze and atmosphere of the passers by on the street. Good spot!

I thought that DELICATESSEN meant " delicate eating" . Not so here. Apparently. As someone who is always on the lookout for new forms of theft, the price of a bottle of still water here at $8.00 (plus TAX!) is certainly a new crime to me. Speaking as somebody who has not died (yet) from drinking tap water at any... More

We had just walked the Brooklyn bridge end to end. We were ready for lunch we headed up to Soho. We passed Delicaressen and it looked really nice. Light bright modern well staffed. We had a 10 minute wait for a table got a seat at the bar we were handed menus. We ordered 2 beers and were shown to... More

The Mac Lobsta' was delicious; the mascarpone gave it a unique flavor, and the giant chunks of lobster were very good. Malted chocolate cheesecake was an amazing end to the meal

We've been here a couple of times now, first for brunch and most recently for dinner. It's deceptively good! Deceptive because it doesn't look like the edgiest place in the world. More of a clean, simple, classy American diner. The menu is similar. All you'd expect - wings, burgers, steaks, etc. All really very well done. Excellent service too. I... More

Great place for lunch. Vibrant, good food (had the Reuben sandwich), perfect spot in SoHo. Waiter was friendly. Price moderate and certainly for the quality offered.

Such a cosy place with great food and lovely staff. I can really recommend their avocado for brunch - and oh, their burgers are lovely too. Love it here - everything is so nice and clean.

A sandwich that won my award for best sandwich of 2015. Nice open air space for a summer lunch with good people watching in an interesting part of New York.

We came in twice during our shoet stay in Soho, once for lunch and the other for dinner, simply because the kids wanted more of the great meatballs. But more than that, the open look to the streets of the east village makes this place feel vibrant, the service is quick and very friendly, and above all - the food... More

Staying in Nolita

Neighborhood Profile
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighborhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighborhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
