Great service paired with fine food!

Nestled in a quiet street in midtown east, we found this gem of an italian restaurant....fine food, excellent service....what a neighborhood gem! We had the slow-cooked pork, calves' liver and farfalle...YUM!

This Italian establishment offers a three-course lunch special that is a great deal. Huge soups as appetizers, generous mains, and dessert and coffee/tea for around $25. This is a steal in Midtown. The food in general is quite good and the restaurant provides a nice and quite escape from the bustling UN area. The service can be rather slow (although... More

This restaurant is a short walk from Grand Central Station. Once inside you have the feel of being in Italy. The food is extraordinary and the wines are delicious. The Italian Sunday is an absolutely sinful desert. Don't mis the homemade pasta, bronchiole, meatballs and sausage. It is better than Mom ever made!!! The prices are moderate, and for those... More

Home made pasta was very good, but nothing special. Service was average at best. Server was totally ignorant about the wine list and tried to aggressively push more expensive wines. Our server had several large tables so that our party of 3 was often ignored.

Oh this was some good meal.. Italian like it should be, simply wonderful. I needed a place for our last night in manhattan that was close to our adjacent UN hotel, Piccolo was a mere block away. Service was excellent and extremely warm and friendly. I had the hand rolled spaghetti and Victoria the Gnocchi, both cooked perfectly. For dessert... More

Ambiance and Service!! This was a wonderful, delectable dining experience! There was not a half-empty glass on the table for a single second. The food was amazing and plentiful. My double cut pork chop was a little chewy...but mouthwatering!! I understand from another in our party that the Gnocchi was the best ever! We really enjoyed this warm, friendly venue... More

First let me start by saying that I have passed this restaurant a 100 times, and yet have never had dinner here, until last night!!! My daughter and I actually were a 1/2 early for our reservation and decided to have a glass of wine and wait for our reservation. We were soo surprised that the restaurant had a "happy... More

A group of six of us enjoyed a wonderful lunch on a Thursday. The food had some surprising twists, and all was good. The shrimp scampi was excellent. A surprise special of the day was "fish and chips" and, it was great. Very nice setting. Everyone was very friendly. We enjoyed an excellent, long lunch, with a couple of bottles... More

For a Tuesday night the service was beyond slow. The only speedy thing was to bring and charge for repeated bottles of rather flat sparkling water. The grated cheese offered was tasteless . On the plus side good clams oregonata and fried calamari and better than expected deserts Noise level over the top Overall just another Italian restaurant convenient to... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
