Great Service

I have been here previously and it was…OK. This time I went with a friend on a Friday night. We dined in the restaurant rather than the bar area. The food itself is fine - nothing spectacular though the steaks are cooked just as ordered. What made the evening excellent was the service provided by... read more

Do these guys know how to serve steak or do these guys know how to serve steak? Lots of choices of both cuts and how you can have them cooked. Great staff who are happy to explain if you don't know what you want or don't understand the menu. The prices aren't cheap, but the portions are huge, so you... More

My husband and I were visiting the city and invited our daughter and boyfriend to join us. The Restaurant Week menu provided a range of offerings and was posted on their website. Three had the filet mignon and another had the veal chop. But we were all tempted by the scallops entree as well. Succulent, tasty filet with creamed spinach... More

We chose Bobby Vans downtown for our New Year's eve dinner. I've had steak all over the world, from Manhattan to Miami, from Texas to California , from America to Florence to South America. This one rates right up there. We had the Porterhouse for 2, and these guys knew what they were doing in the kitchen, steak came out... More

I like the downstairs in this place. The old vault is really cool. The food was fine on my last visit but the service was poor, to the degree the server came to apologize for the delay on our food. With the local competition on steak houses they need to up their game a bit as I have had much... More

Lots of very good steak houses in NYC but this is my favorite. Steak is always perfectly prepared. Last time had the tomato salad (in November) and was delicious and as fresh as August. The bar serves a wonderful classic Manhattan as well!

We bought a groupon for $200 worth of food for $130. Great deal. Waiter was amazing. Recommended seafood appetizer which was mixed shrimp, crab and lobster tail. Amazing!! Then we ordered porterhouse for 2. We were a little worried about doing so bc my honey only eats medium and I like medium rare. Waiter said he could mix the meat... More

I had an awesome dining experience at Bobby Van's in the Financial District. We went on a Friday Night -- and it was quieter than it would have been during the week, but this was a great advantage since the wait staff made us feel like a million bucks! We started with the mozzarella & tomato appetizer and it was... More

The atmosphere was amazing and very old world traditionally elegant or what I would call Wall Street elegant, but not stuffed shirt. The service was very good and the manager was very humble and down to earth. Our food was a bone-in ribeye which my wife said was the best she ever had and I got the 14oz filet which... More
