Very unique and out of the way place for a drink. Go off hours for a quiet drink but after work it can be crowded. My favorite time to go is about 10pm on Saturday night.

Just want to clarify that we went to the ground floor terrace and not the apartment. It was a nice and sunny, late afternoon, and having a drink outdoors felt lovely. I had the Polo Match cocktail and it was perfect. Nice crowd.

The story of this place, its location and the decor make this a wonderful stop if you're in the Grand Central Station area. With your sweetheart or a group of people, you'll feel transported back to the Gilded Age of train travel and speakeasies.

I like the Cambell Apartment's atmosphere and take business associates who have never been to it for a drink now and then but, honestly, I think it gets by primarily on it's location and atmosphere. I've never been overly impressed by the quality of the drinks and prices are on the high side even for New York. It's a place... More

An elegant 'secret private escape' built by a jazz-age magnate, now open to the public as a bar and restaurant. Didn't partake, but the decor is magnificent and worth taking a peek.

Just loved this place, yes cocktails are on the high end, but it's ambiance makes it worth every penny. Apple Martini was excellent and bartender let my friend try about 6 wines, until she found what she liked. Can be noisy, but that makes it all the more easy to get in conversations with strangers.....fun! Be dressed ladies and gentlemen... More

The Campbell Apartment is a great place to stop if you staying near Grand Central. With a menu of period cocktails and the dark wood decor of a 1920s mogul's library, it is an experience. Try the signature Prohibition Punch and pretend you have just entered the Roaring 20s.

We only had drinks at CA, but what a beautiful spot! Restored to original elegance and full of cool people. Made us feel like we had entered a very special place. Great seating areas as well as a nice bar. Very efficient staff.

This architecture and history of this place is amazing, but they need to give the bar area a solid cleaning. We sat by the bar and ordered Manhattans which were fine, however there was a horrible garbage smell coming from behind the bar. We downed our drinks a left. Ruined our visit.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
