A lovely Place for a cocktail (or five). Rather expensive, it must be said, but sitting there, in this pseudo early Renaissance room sipping a drink, it is worth every penny. The waitresses are dressed in smart, black dresses with three rows of pearls and defiantly adds to the glamour.

Indeed you will think this is the living room of Gatsby, small and intimate if you consider it will hold 100 or so of your closest friends ;-) A soaring 3 story space with a massive fireplace at one end and a balcony at the other, the pearl calf waitresses will delight you as they bring their signature cocktail, a... We went here after our wonderful meal at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse; had to stand until a table became available and were then in the balcony (downstairs had more atmosphere). Super cocktail list though!

Although the drinks are generous and well prepared and the bar food can be excellent if ordered carefully and with advice from the server. The 3,500-square-foot (330 m2) space was first leased in 1923 by John Campbell from William Kissam Vanderbilt II, whose family had built Grand Central Terminal. The space was a single room 60 feet (18 m) long... More

A great NYC institution. Sure the drinks are overpriced but the unique space is worth fighting the crowds. They also serve great bar food.

What a cool bar - we had to wait for a private party to finish, but it was was worth it. The barman was a brooding giant of man, giving the mixing of our cocktails an added spice. The room itself is fascinating, we found the slightly worn appearance added to the atmosphere, as did the Friday night crowd. Many... More

Second time tried to eat/drink here only to be told that it is closed for private event. Both attemps were over a year apart and in the early evening. What can I say? I guess if you get in your lucky BUT I am not going to try again as MANY more unique spots with great architecture that are pleased... More

Great Decor. This could be a really great place. We went in to grab a drink after work. It was pretty crowded and had a nice atmosphere. My colleague and I asked for one of their signature cocktails. They couldn't make either. Next selection -- They could only make one. How can you thrive if you're already out of ingredients... More
