We went here to celebrate my birthday. The food definitely gave me a party in my mouth. Started off with house made pretzels with beer cheese for slathering. Yum. I had the lowland shrimp and grits. I had never had grits before. Now I can't wait to have them again. My husband had papardelle with eggplant, other roasted veggies and... More

I chose to have a some friends for dinner at the Redhead, and it was fantastic! First of all the food of course which was, but what really was outstanding was the staff. They did everything to make us feel special! We also got some very good advice before the dinner. My wife and I looked in a few hours... More

I had the fried chicken which was a great combination of crispy and juicy. My friend had the pork chop which didn't look very appealing but the flavors were great and it was cooked just right. Pretty cool atmosphere and decent beer selection combined to make it a place we will definitely visit again.

Tried this place after seeing a Guy Fieri review that praised the place. The service was friendly, the place low key. We tried the dishes that were recommended based on the research we did prior. The pretzel was good as was the kale salad, the fried chicken was yummy and the shrimp and grits were solid. Overall, all ok but... More

We were visiting our daughter and her husband. I had heard about The Redhead and it turned out to be rather close to the apartment. I asked if we could go there for dinner one of the nights we were in the city. We were able to squeeze in and were early enough to have their fried chicken dinner special.... More

Really Southern soul food. Their cocktails are fantastic. I went there with a few friend. I've order the cheeseburger white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle and some of my friend had the redhead buttermilk fried chicke and grilled octopus. Everything was perfect. Service was super fast and nice.

Great food great desert. Best pretzel I have ever had! Small restaurant a little loud but that is to be expected in NYC. The staff was courteous and professional. Definitely on a must visit list to NYCz

This is one of my go-to restaurants for good friends and out-of-towners. Cozy, casual room with a lively bar and the best fried chicken in the city. But don't stop there - the shrimp and grits and pretzel with cheese are must haves as well. Best of all, it's beyond reasonable for quality of food.

Reassuringly short yet varied menu, fantastic selection of beers. I had vegetable salad and kale/chickpea fries, it was all delicious with perfectly balanced flavours. Really lovely atmosphere and friendly service. Highly recommended.
