During our recent 4 night stay in NYC my wife had heard about this place so we decided to check it out. While we did not have a reservation, we got there at about 5:30pm and noticed it was already quite busy however, we were fortunate enough to get a table near the front door. The atmosphere was pretty laid... More

We, a party of 4 had reservation at 7 pm. They allow reservation for four or more. We were there at 7 pm and seated right away. The restaurant is small with bar near the front and dinner tables approximately for 30 or so. But it felt cozy and nice. We ordered two cocktails like : Redhead Gibson :plymouth gin,... More

A small eatery in the east village which we stumbled on wanting traditional American food Great ambiance with well made cocktails and well executed food If only the colonel knew the recipe to this deep fried chicken crust everyone would be better off when visiting that fast food place Two great salads to accompany plus pretzel w blue cheese a... Visiting daughter 2 near her work prior to a play, looked for a nice place on TripAdvisor. Nice rating (though that misguided for Tataki and Nancy Whiskey), gave it a whirl. Very nice ambiance, warm and personable service. The drinks were outstanding, a very good Manhattan and their own "Gotham," a Manhattan variant with a touch of Kahlua. The girls... More

This a cozy place on the lower east side that houses some of the tastiest treats in NYC. Highlights? The pretzels and the fried chicken are outstanding. Good beer selection (drafts and bottles) and a wide array of whiskeys. All the food was spot-on in terms of flavor and presentation. It is worth a trip from the boroughs or the... More

Way down in the East Village sits "The Redhead" a dining room and bar so nondescript that you'll likely walk past maybe even more than once. Once inside you won't get lost given it consists of a modestly-sized bar, a handful of high tabletops all within the same space as a dining room that can be filled by a good-sized... More

Like many others, I was directed to the Redhead from a segment on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I had been looking forward to the Redhead for a long time and decided to go there with 7 other friends while in NYC for a conference. It did not disappoint. We went last minute, and thought that it would be a problem... More

We really enjoyed our meal at The Redhead! It was a bit of a trek from our hotel but well worth it. They managed to seat our party of 8 very quickly, and our server was amazing. Very friendly, efficient, and attentive. Despite being in a large group, the food came very quickly and was well-timed - nobody was left... More

The braised beef short ribs and the shrimp and grits were awesome. The peanut bacon brittle was a great start. The brussels spouts were really good side and the biscuits too. Great quite place for a date.

We went here to celebrate my birthday. The food definitely gave me a party in my mouth. Started off with house made pretzels with beer cheese for slathering. Yum. I had the lowland shrimp and grits. I had never had grits before. Now I can't wait to have them again. My husband had papardelle with eggplant, other roasted veggies and... More
