Trendy Italian with fairly generic menu

Food was very good but nothing spectacular. Was quite noisy with loud music. Service good but one thing that bothered me was the hostess seating us at a table practically getting hit by the swinging kitchen doors. The restaurant was almost empty at the time and she moved us when I requested. It was... read more

While on business my colleagues and I had dinner at Bistro Milano. The ambiance, lightly reminded of Italy. The house pinot grigio was perfect to mellow down a busy work day. The fresh breads, olive oil and balsamic vinegaret was mouth watering. The salads were just enough and the mushroom risotto impressively closed out the evening. The service was exceptional... More

This restaurant is located right in the neighborhood we always stay in. We eat here every time we stay and are never disappointed. The months when patio seating are available are even better. The tagliatelle with peas and prosciutto is literally my favorite pasta dish ever, but just about anything on the menu is great. Ask for Ben as your... More

My husband and I had a great dinner here starting with a terrific salad of greens, shaved cheese, and spiced pear. Then we had veal ravioli which was homemade pasta and delicious. The bread basket was never allowed to be empty with EVOO on the table plus an amazing sweet, thick balsamic vinegar to dip the bread. We ended with... More

Originally found this restaurant in 2010 and each time we are in NYC we visit. Food is always outstanding and atmosphere is lively. Whether you order a entree main or dessert it's always delicious. We just love it.

We stumbled upon this place after a long trip and our server made us forget all about the stress of the day. The food was excellent and arrived very quickly. We had pizza (tons of flavor) and an arugula salad with an awesome pear that seemed to be poached in something with cinnamon. Really cool combination!

We went to Bistro Milano before a show. We ordered the three course prix fixe. For apps I had the tuna tartare (which ended up being the star of the show although it was only slightly better than average) and she had the ravioli di zucca, which was presented nicely but lacking flavor. Her grilled salmon was undistinguished and I... More

this restaurant is a non snobish Italian restaurant with a fabulous service and great food. Had one night a mushroom risotto and the following a seafood risotto.we come frequently in Italy and are able to compare. It was like my favourite Mario restaurant in Varenna.

We visited this restaurant on a recent trip to NYC. We found the food to be authentic but that's not always good. Like the food we have had in Italy the flavors in the food were "subtle" (some would say bland). If you like traditional Italian food you will like this place and the price, while a bit high, is... Great location, indoor outdoor dining on west 55th. Very attentive service, great selection of delectable italian cuisine as good for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner, I have tried all options and was never disappointed. Every dish was very well presented, hot, fresh and delicious, my favourite brunch dish being "eggs royale" with smoked salmon. Will return anytime, just a great place... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
