Just a clarification - the Numero 28 we ate at is on 2nd Avenue on the West side of New York city. This is the only one I could find, so, hopefully, they are owned by the same people. We shared a lovely salad, which was full of olives, artichoke hearts, greens, and wonderfully shaved park cheese, lightly dressed. Hubby... More

I have been to Numero 28 a million of times since moving to new york over a year ago. I absoutly love this place and have NEVER eaten anything but delicious food - the only thing that is not 100% is the service but its just because i have had one experience when they brought my boyfriend and mines dinners... Italians who are disgusted by Italian American trashy food and feel homesick must to go to 28 to feel back home for a while. Food is typically Italian - with no mix of ingredients, tastes and recipes as American loves to do - also ingredients and recipes are traditional. They all speak Italian and are very warm with Italians. Pizza... More

The best Pizza crust in town, no doubt. Get the large one to share for two and I would go with the San Daniele... The prosciutto is divine... Good prices too...

This place is great! Having tried a couple of so called "Italian " restaurants around Little Italy in NYC I had been bitterly dissapointed. So when I met two local Italian Americains from New Jersey at a tapas bar , I asked them where they go for good pizza and Italian food. They told me the name and said it... More

We sat outside and watched the world go by. The service was great, the flavours simple but good. We had a half and half medium sized pizza which was plenty for the two of us. A warm evening with tasty pizza, nice Chianti and great company. Just brilliant.

Let me start by telling you this. I love pizza! I will drive miles out of my way for great pizza. I have been trying to perfect making home pizza for years and yearn for a real wood fired brick oven. Then last weekend we stumble upon Numero 28. Numero 28 is situated in a typical old West Village building.... More

Crispy, slightly charred thin crust ... toppings exploding with flavor. A pizza worth going out of your way for. I am a huge fan of John's, but Numero 28 is something different. Skip the huge gummy NY slices and indulge in a pizza YOU WILL REMEMBER! Cash only, and pricey. A neighborhood favorite.

Compared to most Australian pizza, New York pizza is chalk and cheese in difference but while in Rome as they say . . . walking around Carmine & Bleeker Streets, pizza is everywhere but lucky for us Numero 28 was close to our hotel in Varick St. We bought a 29" Capriccios ($36) "to go" - we stood outside watching...
