Great place

I love the style of this Restorant, very interesting concept, the food is ok, still ok, but used to be way better years ago. The prices are still expensive (it was never a cheap place) but before you knew what you paid for. I still love the place and will got here again but I wish they would bring... read more

A concierge recommended this restaurant to my boyfriend and I. It was horrible. If we're paying a lot of money, we expect amazing food quality and excellent service. This restaurant was unable to deliver that. The food quality was subpar. The servers were less than happy we showed up at 9:30PM for a table. They pulled our entrees before we... More

Decided on a ladies night @ Megu during restaurant week and boy were we not disappointed! I started out with a pretty glass of watermelon champagne that was very refreshing. Next was a tasty side of tuna tartare & perfectly sauteed shrimp. The entree I chose was their famous Kobe Filet Flame. It was brought out in a wooden box... More

Enjoyed a lovely meal here. The staff were very attentive and friendly throughout the meal service. The food was excellent - I had the tuna tartare and kobe sirloin, both were nicely done, not overpowering in taste or spices, superb in texture and very pleasing to the palate. Yuzu Creme Brule was very light and not too sweet. a gentle... More

To start off, I'm a native New Yorker born and raised and continue to live and work in this great city. I never really think of writing a review on Tripadvisor for anything NY related for the obvious reasons... I'm not on a trip! I stick to the local reviews. However, I was so appalled by this restaurant I had... More

Megu is trying to stay cool, but maybe the location is not helping, and the competence. Located in the 1st avenue near the United Nations Headquarters, it is located in the Trump Tower. The entrance is nice, with long stairs. The problem is that with so many options regarding Japanese cuisine, Megu stays behind. We ate on a friday night,... More

Amazing place with refined atmosphere for one of those really special meals. The crusted asparagus was a delightful surprise, the uni -- divine, the presentation all spectacular and the Kobe grilled beef...out of this world. Wonderful selection of good sake and great help in selecting. Alas...but understandable given location and refinement....prices to match.

This was our second visit to Megu during retaurant week and both times were equally outstanding. My 7 year old , who thinks Burger King serves the best beef, was blown away by the Kobe beef entree. His only complaint was that his portion was too small. He made up for it with the chocolate cake. Unfortunately, he is cultivating... More

Not sure why this place gets a lot of fuss. It's fine, but we wouldn't go back. It's waaaaay out of the way and although the service was excellent, the food was just okay. The sushi, after such a detailed explanation of quality, was really flavourless and no big deal. Having to cook your own meat on a hot stone... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
