Great music, good food

If you like jazz this is a cool place to visit for a great evening out. It's a cosy place and the tables are pretty tightly packed in but it works and there's a good vibrant atmosphere. Visited here on July 14 and was not disappointed! The place is small so you have to get here a bit early and it is a bit cramped. However, the view and sound are excellent. Service and drinks were excellent! My wife and I both tried the French Onion soup and it was the BEST I have ever eaten!! incredible!!... More

The music and atmosphere of this jazz club was very nice. But when we got the bill we realized that we HAD TO drink upto 20$ and because we did not we had to pay the difference! So we paid 15$ for nothing!!

We went to an early session one summer evening, very easy to get to on the subway. As we were at the early session the restaurant was half empty, if it was full, you are sat very close to the next table. The food was tasty and relatively simple, and also as with most US restaurants huge portions! I found... More

1st time here, anniversary date. Saw Harold Mabern - what a treat! Seated w/ only 3 tables in front of us & had a perfect view except for the drummer - a pole was blocking him. The food was yummy - we both got burgers w/ fries and enjoyed so much while being entertained. Service was excellent & the place... More

My husband and I visited this jazz club with my brother and his wife. There was a 10 piece band, including the female singer. The stage is small but somehow they all had a spot! Great jazz music!

Smoke is one of the best places in the city to listen to terrific jazz. It's almost as if you're in your living room. Authentic. Cosy. Intimate. Comfortable. friendly. Food is pretty good. Priced for the Tourist trade..

My wife and I went to Smoke Jazz Club in search of bebop, which we found with the Steve Davis Sextet. The music was great! The atmosphere was friendly and intimate, with good service, and the acoustics and sight lines were very good. The southern style food was actually a surprise; a nice surprise and better than I anticipated. I... More

Live jazz performance for free, very tasting brunch (smoked salmon / scrambled eggs + grilled chicken chopped salad with Mimosa's cocktail for us), not expensive, nice atmosphere.

We've been many times to Smoke Jazz; it's one of our favorite jazz clubs in NY: small, cozy, excellent to see new talents and great house musicians. It's no cheap, though - and the food always taste the same, which is greasy taste in general. The drinks are ok. Go for the music, not for dinner.
