My wife and I like to go to jazz clubs, but this was the first time we had dinner and jazz at the same time. We found the two didn't mix well. The food at Smoke was just ok and yet a bit pricey...like everything else in New York :) The service was fine and the waitress was attentive. The... More

This place literally seats about 40 people. If that much. But it's great because no matter where you're seated, you get a great view of the stage. We had the seafood pasta that i did not enjoy, the seafood was undercooked and the pasta was very bland. for appetizers we got lamb sliders they where absolutely delicious. My only con... More

We happened to be here during restaurant week and enjoyed the prix fix menu. My husband had the hamburger that was very very good and I had the Jambalaya which was filled with shrimp, large pieces real crab meat. It was delicious. I wanted to try the chicken wings or the fried chicken but passed on the finger foods only... More

Very rude bartender/waitress with dark hair who was very miserable and rude from The minute we sat down didn't help that we were made to sit at the bar to eat our food so was right in front of her sour face the whole time. She insulted me at first by saying I looked very much like a (very) overweight... More

I went to the late night set on a Sunday. No cover! The Willem Delifort Quartet (actually a quintet) took the stage and did a blistering set of Hard Bob. Just after they started up the legendary alto sax player Lou Donaldson came to listen. He was 88 years old at the time and it was midnight on a Sunday... More

Small, intimate, not busy and top artists! Plus we really enjoyed the food. One of the best surprises of our trip so far..

For jazz lovers this is a departure from the grittier LES joints. Classy sums it up fine. On the UWS Smoke has a solid house band to chill to. The service is what you expect for that part of town too. However the real attraction is the food and drinks. A very nice wine selection with NY pricing and great... More

Now that's what I call jamming and real Jazz...Love going to Smoke...not only is the music quality outstanding, the vibe is real. Lots of musicians stop by after their own gigs other places and start jamming...the service is great and the atmosphere worth the trip, wherever you are!

The food is pretty good, the drinks are very good, but what you are really going for is the live jazz. Annette St. John and her Trio are the brunch show offering, and they are WONDERFUL!!!

This place should be definitely added to the bucket list when jazz spots of NYC are concerned. 3 sets pear night of great jazz ( first starts at 8:00 PM- last at 10:45). 2 drinks minimum ( about $20 per person) end up being a cover charge. Great music - but you have to quiet while the sets are on.... More
