Wonderful dunch

Had a great lunch experience. Wife ordered escargot & it was excellent. Had steak frite & wife had cod. Both dishes were quite tasty and served hot and quickly. The dessert of crime Carmel was prepared to perfection.

Can't say enough wonderful things about the food and drink at this delightful gem. It's tucked into a quiet block of 55th between 5th and 6th Ave. so pleased we stumbled upon it. EVERYTHING is made fresh in house. Even the ice cream. Get the profiteroles, whatever you do.

Just popped in for lunch because we happened to be in the area and, thankfully, were seated immediately. A lovely, bistro.... nice, but not too fancy (as a bistro should be). We had the escargot to start...AMAZING!! My husband then ordered the roast chicken and I had the salmon. Husband is still raving about that chicken!! Perfectly cooked and wonderfully... More

I was looking forward to a nice meal at Benoit's in New York after having had a delicious meal at Benoit`s in Paris. My first reaction was that the ambiance is definitely not like Paris. The lady who showed us to our seat was dressed so shabbily. You never find this in Paris in a fine restaurant. The restaurant itself... More

Four of us went for dinner on a Saturday night before the theater. We had a drink at the bar before we sat down and the bartender was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant week menu choices were wonderful and all the food was excellent. I believe they have a pre-theater menu regularly, so I believe this will be good... More

Six of us enjoyed a memorable meal. The ambience of a classic french restaurant, the menu items from "yesteryear".... that deserve to be celebrated today. Along with some updated items more in today's bistro style. The Quenelles were light as clouds just as they should be, with a delicious sauce featuring the nutty flavor which can only come from a... this is truly a great French bistro. We were traveling with relatives that live in Paris and the said it was equivalent to bistros in Paris. It was my husbands birthday and the went beyond expectations. The staff spoken french fluently. Everything from appetizers to desserts were perfect. They are know for the escargot and chicken Both these items were done... More

We ate a delicious lunch at Benoit during Restaurant Week and couldn't have been happier with the waitstaff, hostess and food at Alaine Ducase's downsized culinary outpost. Whether you are dining at his Las Vegas (Mix) or Monte Carlo (Le Louis IV) or NY bistro (Benoit), you can be assured of French culinary perfection.

We had dinner in restaurant week, so we selected from the limited menu for the special prix fixe. Everything on that menu was good. Cold tomato soup that had halves of small heirloom tomatoes floating, three-colored perfectly cooked beets with mesclun salad, cod with an interesting sauce that had a hint of lavender, standard properly cooked skirt steak, an interesting... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
