We had dinner in restaurant week, so we selected from the limited menu for the special prix fixe. Everything on that menu was good. Cold tomato soup that had halves of small heirloom tomatoes floating, three-colored perfectly cooked beets with mesclun salad, cod with an interesting sauce that had a hint of lavender, standard properly cooked skirt steak, an interesting... The young French waiter there, today, Sunday, was not fluent enough in English to make the ordering of my meal go smoothly. His accent was another factor hindering his passing along information to me clearly. The food was good, I would have liked it to be very good. Because of that, I did not have anything that I would want... More

Pig and Pork If you like suckling pig, this restaurant is your best bet in New York. In 2012, his cassoulet - a rich and hearty French dish ( pork and beans) popular in South of France with a provenance of Carcassonne But. Phillipe Bertineau, the Vhef at Benoit really likes to cook a whole suckling pig. The we had... More

The elegant atmosphere and the fabulous food and wine made for a wonderful evening. I enjoyed the duck and the heirloom salad.

We loved this restaurant...very French with an amazing menu. I had halibut...so delicious! My husband had Steak Frites...the frites are soooo yummy. I loved the atmosphere and can't wait to go back for dinner again! We watched other diners share the "chicken" for two...it looked fabulous!

Wonderful dinner. A ton of appetizers, each one tasted great, and prepared perfectly. Everyone commented that they loved their entrees. Desserts were decadent. Had the profiteroles. Oh my. Fantatic. Enjoyed the entire experience. Will definitely be back. Not sure why I hadn't gone there before, but it's no on my "go to" list.

As a New Yorker who has lived in France, it is a treat to escape to a restaurant in Manhattan in which you are served by a real French waiter not aspiring to be an actor, without pretense and completely willingly to answer your persnickety questions. Unfortunately, I cannot remember his name. The first impression with the kir royal (perfectly... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
