A Touch of Paris in NYC

We had dinner at Benoit our first night in NYC. The room makes you feel like you are in Paris - Art Deco lamps, wood paneled walls with photos of Paris; tables packed together to give it a cafe style. Wine list is extensive and can be expensive. Bottles are available that cost hundreds of dollars... read more

My children and I had a lovely Sunday brunch yesterday, enjoying our respite from the snow. We loved feeling a little like we were back in Paris. I had the warm chicken salad which was delicious, along with their special champagne cocktail. My son had a great omelette. My daughter though her scrambled eggs were undercooked but she didn't tell... More

If Alain Ducasse has ever actually been in this restaurant, then his reputation is in no sense deserved. There is very little good about anything here. The service is beyond disorganized. Many people milling about, but no purpose or organization and typically no one there when you actually need something. The food is mediocre at best. The wine list is... More

Coming from Montreal, a city of outstanding french restaurants, we were skeptical about eating in a french style bistro in Manhattan. We decided to have lunch there recently and we were pleased with the outcome. It was as if we were transported from Manhattan to France for a tasty, romantic lunch. The lunch "prix fixe" specials are great value. Very... More

From the private wood paneled rooms to the dinning experience and the bar this is not a budget night out but it is worth it. We left the children at home and headed up town, yes, even for a downtowner this is worth the trip north to mid-town, joined some great friends who were over from Europe and got busy.... More

I recently visited Benoit for lunch and then, because the first experience was so good, a few days later for brunch. It's conveniently located around the corner from MOMA. During the week they have a first-rate prix fixe lunch. On the day I visited my friend and I both had an excellent salmon tartare to start. Really tangy, fresh and... More

We had a lovely dinner in mid-week at this restaurant. We had a mix of traditional (excellent flavorful onion soup) and modern (a plate of there interesting appetizers), and two well-prepared entrees. The service was extremely attentive without being obtrusive. We would happily go there again.

This is an authentic French looking bistro restaurant, with an authentic menu of interesting French dishes. My French onion soup was particularly good and all the rest of our party enjoyed their dishes. Service was very professional and good humoured, the wine was good and not overpriced for NY. I recommend the restaurant and will return.

A very nice restaurant in New York, with very nice food. We enjoy to go there time to time despite wines are a little too expensive... It would also be great to see the menu changing time to time despite "tarte tatin" is one of our favorite desert.

Me and my family went to Benoit for New Year's Eve dinner and had a great time. We had to wait 40 min to sit, despite having a reservation, but considering the celebration, it was OK.

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
