After-Concert Supper

We've been to Benoit several times and the food is consistently very good. We came for a post concert meal and the place was very quiet. We had a nice booth and our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The room is pretty but rather than having a warm glow it felt slightly "unexciting". I... read more

We loved Benoit. One of the best restaurants in NYC. Very fine with excellent wait staff. Our waiter was a nice young man from Paris who had worked at another Allain Duchesse (SP?) restaurant there. Everything was outstanding, you will enjoy.

The room is only fair. The staff are attentive. The food a bit mixed. The hors d'oeuvres were a little disappointing, particularly the artichoke and ravioli, the pig's foot rather better. Head cheese and moules were excellent but the skate disappointing.

Amazing stand up bistro dishes match up with the gorgeous Parisian décor and the friendly and attentive service. The pre-fixe menus are a bargain and the wine list is surprising for a bistro. Definitely recommended.

This restaurant has excellent ambiance, very good service and outstanding food providing a glimpse of French Michelin star rated chef, Alain Ducasse. Pâté en Croûte and Foie Gras excellent. After diner take a coffee and/or cognac at the bar.

I absolutely loved the meal we had at Benoit. It was thanksgiving dinner and the whole thing was amazing, delicious and the service outstanding. Just as is expected for a restaurant of this reputation. Will return!

We had diner with 5 people, the food was quit good but the service absolutely not. We felt tricked into ordening truffels for our pasta. The price for this supplement was not mentioned and ended up to be more that three times the price of the original dish price. They Should have clearly mentioned the price before adding it to... On my yearly visits to NY BENOIT has always been one of my favorite restaurants. This year has been a big disappointment, eggs with lobster....I could not find the eggs! And the pieces of lobster were swimming in the sauce! The second visit was even worst!! Afraid to give it a third try!!

Benoit is a very good restaurant on west 56th, specializing in very good French food, wish exceptinal duck and quenelles. Recently, they instituted a weekly suckling pig nights with ful course dinners for a fixed price. They are nothing short of amazing.

Great location, very good interior, authentic look in the main dining area and very attentive staff. Starter of Cheese soufflé was as good as any I have had in Michelin Restaurants. Mains for the other 3 diners of mixed seafood/chicken/duck all well cooked and seasoned, however my steak tartar had no acid whatsoever and no egg, making the flavour bland... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
