Lively with Good Food

This is a very lively restaurant in the heart of Tribeca. Staff were friendly and efficient - also knowledgable (they knew the food and the drink). The dining room is large and noisy but the decor is attractive. Food is good - imaginative Italian style.

I was in NYC for business and had dinner here with a client. I had never been before and had a great dining experience. The food is fantastic. Very tasty and different from usual Italian restaurant dishes. The waitstaff was very friendly, and extremely helpful when asked for recommendations from the menu and wine list. I enjoyed every bite and... More

This is quite possibly one of the best restaurants I've been to in NYC. On all our trips to NYC, my wife and I find time to eat here. Food, wine and service has always been excellent. On our last visit we received a free truffle pasta dish (part of their specials seasonal dishes at the time) to apologies for... More

We were trying out different restaurants so we stopped for lunch and split plate of butternut squash ravioli and a dessert, this wonderful semifreddo with blood orange and amaretto. It was so good! I'm going to have to see if I can try to imitate both dishes.

Our waiter wasn't attentive and seemed more interested in picking up women than ensuring we had an enjoyable experience. We ordered a special bottle of wine but it was kept to the side to be topped up. We spent much of our night trying wave down someone to fill our empty glasses. Food was good but service detracted from this.

Visited Locanda Verde for breakfast. I have to say it was a little expensive for breakfast, but the quality of the food was beyond words. Very unique, non-traditional dishes in a charming decor. Staff was attentive and polite. Will return, and I certainly recommend.

Must visit place for brunch or lunch when you are in new york city. Great Staff, Great Food, Great Ambiance. I tried the Roasted Chicken .. Crispy skin but still moist at the center. Seasoning is spot on and those herbs rub give a sensasional touch to the chicken. We tried few items of food but sadly I cant remember... More

I was here once before. Tonight, after a very bad experience at Tiny's nearby for dinner, we went out to dinner AGAIN the same evening. Late dinner at the bar. Ravioli was a tad too al dente but flavor was good. Crab app was a bit fishy. What was REALLY nice about this place is how very friendly the bartenders... More

So by all standards this is one of the best restaurants in NYC, their food is amazing the dishes almost indescribable. How do you describe a Ricotta cheese dish that is so amazing no one would know unless they tasted it. Lamb meatball sliders so perfect, every pasta dish different, and amazing. The favors are almost inhuman. Staff that's happy... More

A client brought me here for a meeting and I could barely focus with all the food aromas filling the space. I had the lamb bolognese, which was amazing. It smelled heavenly and tasted so fresh. I wanted to try the duck burger and the pumpkin ravioli, but my dish was great. The service was insane. The instant your water... More

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
