Good atmosphere and service but not sure about the food

We came here for lunch and as expected, it was absolutely heaving. No matter how much I wanted to love it, the food seemed to be more style over substance. The carrot and broccoli sides were absolutely slathered in oil and salt, as was my tuna salad. I left with a very unpleasant feeling in my... read more

really good fish dishes: My wife had skate, my daughter the speck wrapped trout, and I had a whole orate (what the French would call daurade). All delicious. As a starter we shared their beet salad, which was excellent. The highlight of the evening was the dessert. a chocolate covered ice cream with black truffles. Absolutely delicious and easily enough... More

We found ourselves in TriBeCa and simply stumbled upon Locanda Verde. Our appetites directed us in the door. We found a stunningly lively and lovely space. The brunch we enjoyed was equally spectacular. The service was totally professional and helpful. We look forward to many more visits. You will not be disappointed when you stop by.

Went there yesterday. Table was ready on time and they were flexible enough to let me select from tables that were freeing up. Ended near the window. Generally its a NY very very crowded restaurant all tables are almost one on top of the other. We got octopus, and land meat balls for appetizers. Were absolutely great. arrived quickly right... We ate our faces off and couldn't stop. The portions were great for a higher end restaurant, the pastas were out of this world, the duck was unREAL, and if we weren't about to pop, we would have liked the dessert dishes (not really, drama for emphasis). Our server was SO accommodating. Perfectly paired wine and recommendations were on point.... More

Once we got past the officious young woman on the front desk the evening was wonderful. The Bar staff while we waited for our table was attentive and once we moved to our table our waiter served us quickly; The menu and wine list provided us with multiple options. The food lived up to its great reputation and the ambience... More

They hype for this was good. However, as I do not eat seafood or pork there was little to choose from. Husband has skate which was good, tried to order dishes that did not say they had pork in (e.g. lamb sausage) however, waitress kindly advised that it also included pork. A good restaurant if you like seafood. If you... More

So while we did not stay at the Greenwich Hotel while eating here at the Locanda Verde we certainly will next month when we return. As most reviewers here point to the sheep's milk ricotta with truffle honey and burnt orange toast, they are all absolutely correct in that it is simply amazing and really decadent to sum it up... Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
