I was so schwasted before I even go to this place, so it took me a good 5 minutes scrolling through my FB timeline to find that someone had checked me into this place. I remember walking down stairs to this dungeon like place with a bunch of drunk canadia girls. We had a great time because the DJ that... More

Went to La Zarza with some friends about a year and a half ago. If nothing has changed, don't even bother going. We started the evening with a "dinner" upstairs. I say "dinner" because it was marely a taste of food. I was still very hungry once we decended the stairs and went to the so called "club". You are... More

This was one of the worst places I've ever been in New York City. The bouncer is a argumentative, hot-headed jerk. The owner is less than accommodating any issues may have. We bought a table and never received the bar service. The crowd was not appealing and very sweaty. The bar ran out of beer at 2 am. For all... More

this is a limited review because my friend and I stopped here for a drink after being told we get a free tapa with two drink purchase. we figured perfect because we each wanted a drink and small snack to tide us over til dinner. they may want to tell you that it's a pre selected plate of manchego slices... This sexy and intimate tapas bar left us satisfied and looking forward to returning for more. From savory empanadas that would make my dear friend’s Argentinian mother proud to a citrusy & flavorful white fish ceviche that brings me back summers spent in Europe, I can only express sheer delight uncovering this place! On this cold, snowy afternoon, I crave... More

Truly delicious food, fresh, perfectly prepared, nice presentation. Crab cakes were outstanding as were the calamari. Service was attentive, friendly and prompt. Tables are a bit small and the place is dark, but overall a great place to eat.

My beloved and I took advantage of an instant groupon deal in our vicinity and tried the new lunch menu at La Zarza. They have been on 1st Ave for a few years for dinner but have just started a lunch service. We could not have been more satisfied with everything: the quality of the food, the selection on the... We are not lovers of spanish food but when we went to eat there i fell in love with the flavors and the way it was served. We were even telling people that were looking at the billboard outside to come in and eat. The food is great and the price is very good. We will go back to eat... More

La Zarza was a strange experience - I was fairly excited to go having read a bunch of great reviews of the restaurant, but ultimately, it ended up being a pretty average experience. When we got there, it was totally empty on a Sunday night, which was strange, but I guess good for us b/c we got a good table.... More

La Zarza is a quaint little restaurant on the East Side of the city. It has the look of a small taberna that you would fine in Spain where you would go for tapas and wine. It has a relatively interesting menu but, unfortunately this is where it ends! Great concept for a restaurant but it does not work. The... More
