I've been lucky enough to visit Japan, eaten at some great Ramen restaurants and also frequently visited Momofuku noodle bar and not to take anything away from these great places but Hakata Ippudo has hit the top of my list and maybe even my favourite restaurant in New York. The ambience and dinning experience feels like you have just stepped... More

The ramen served were above average. Noodles are executed nicely. However, the cha siew (pork slices) included were not melt in your mouth good that is expected from ramen shops. Moreover, it lacks the burst or explosion of flavours that one expects for one of the top 100 TripAdvisor restaurants.

Not the place for a romantic dinner or to hold conversations in, but the food is amazing, the service quick and very attentive, despite the crowds which I imagine populate the place on a daily basis. The was a line of people waiting to seat when I arrived but, since I was on my own, it took them a short... More

We walked right by the midtown Ippudo as the sign is discreet and in Japanese,, and the restaurant is below street level.. but even the waiting line outside didn't put us off!! FABULOUS RAMEN!! ..like something I have never eaten before. Home made noodles and a sumptuous broth and with totally authentic goodies AND tempting add-ons. It is always a... More

Worth the wait! Best ramen I've ever eaten in my life and the Hirata pork buns are the icing on the cakes!! If I were to die and could only eat meal I'd happily die eating this as my last meal. Yes it is that good! I've gone to Ippudo consistently for the past six years and have never had... More

We heard so much about Ramen at Ippudo, and they have one at East Village. We went on the weekday at 11 a.m., the time it opens, and avoided the waiting time in the evening which will usually be an hour's wait. Ramen turns out to be a rather average portion, and although the soup base is well done, the... More

We went for a lunch on Sunday late afternoon (1:30pm) and had to wait for 40 minutes for party of 4. Hip ambiance with lots of energy. We ordered edamame and pork bun and vegetarian bun as appetizer. Edamame came with an interesting salt on the side. Pork buns were incredible, vegetarian buns were equally delicious with much more spicy... More

Had a very good bowl of Ramen for Lunch. Cha-Shu was very good as well as the soft egg. The pork buns as an appetizer was excellent. Very soft steamed bun with a nicely flavored cooked Pork that had just the right amount of crispiness in every bite.
