Best ramen soup outside of Japan

Okay, I don't know if my headline is absolutely true but this place is simply fabulous! You have to wait in line since they don't take reservations but it's worth every minute. A friend knows I love my ramen and suggested that we try Ippudo. I've had lots of good ramen in New York, but this was the best. Lunch started with some Hirata chicken buns....love the soy mayo sauce that comes with it. I then ordered the Hakata ramen which came with pork, mushrooms, onions and bamboo. The broth was so... Came here before a show at Webster Hall which we missed due to the long wait at Ippudo, but we decided to stay anyways because I've been dreaming about this place since my first visit three years ago. It was worth it. We arrived at 6:45ish and the wait was an hour to an hour and a half. We sat... More

the noodle restaurant has a nice style, located near NYU campus, so it is filled with many student and others, always crowded , expect a line and a waiting time. they doesn't take reservation. it is about pork noodle soup/ramen so if you are not into Pork or Kosher.. then you will be disappointed. their noodle is home made and... After I saw some reviewers mentioned that they had to queue for at least an hour to get in, I decided to see what's the buzz about this ramen joint. I was lucky enough as I walked in alone they have a seat for me right away - where the couple before me were told to wait for at least... More

I asked for Buns as an entree. Delicious!!! The Shiromaru Spicy was nos so spicy and it was really good. I could say my best one up to now. Finally, as a dessert I asked for a cake made of Green Tea Crepe. The taste was lovely. A very nice place when you're in New York

Great for a lunch on a cold day. Tastes fresh and authentic. The spicy Ramen has just the right amount of heat.

We had a 45 minute wait for a table but it was definitely worth it! There was a happy buzz about the restaurant, lots of satisfied customers. A great selection of starters and they were really tasty too. Generous portions and fresh ingredients. The ramen was one of the most delicious meals we had in New York. A written description... Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
