Very nice ambience and atmosphere.

We arrived after 9pm on a Tuesday night and were very lucky to get seated in under 20 minutes. The establishment was lively and loud (in a good way). Ordered both buns and ramen to try. I loved the aroma and intensity of the broth but wasn't a big fan of the noodles themselves. Texture did not... read more

This was one of the best bowls of Ramen I have ever had - I have been to Japan. My fiance and I loved it and actually debated on going back the next night. It is THAT good. It was a 90 minute wait on a Wednesday but well worth it. If you like Ramen, go no further.

Ate here at lunchtime on a Sunday - the door staff were great and got us a seat quickly as we were going to see a matinée in the afternoon. The staff were all excellent - quick to take our orders, friendly, and helpful. I'm giving the restaurant three stars because I think you can get better ramen elsewhere in... More

I knew about Ippudo because of my last year trip to Japan; and I still cannot forget the ramen we tried there: OUTSTANDING! In fact, we when twice to Ippudo during our stay in Kyoto and we also went to Ippudo some days later in Tokyo. The menu in the NY restaurant is very similar to the Japanese one. And... More

My daughter has been talking about this place for a while, and I was a little suspecious knowing that it could be nothing but a hype among the younger generations. I'm a noodle kind of guy, and I know what a good noodle dish should be like, although Ramen is not my favorite kind of noodles. But I must say... More

To be honest, this store ramen is better than Japanese Ippudo. This store is always busy but you can take beer while you wait.

Went here for lunch and we had to wait to get in which was a good sign. The greeting was warm and the service was prompt and friendly. Lots on the menu so we had a couple of appetizer, Sapphoro draft beer (very fresh) and noodles. I had the washabi flavoured dish and it delivered! My friend also had a... More

My friend talked me about this place and we went to have dinner Friday night. We arrived early at 6:00 PM and we didn't have problems finding a table. We ordered the pork buns, the modern ramen soup and dessert. It was so delicious, I had the chance to try others ramen places in NY, San Francisco and London and... More

I had my first authentic dish of Ramen during this visit. So, so, good. I'd be coming here every day if I could afford it! Lovely atmosphere and great service.

This place isAMAZING. Service is even better. I went on a Friday night around 5pm but the hostess told me I had about 2 hour wait!! My friends never tried it and hearing that we had a long wait made them want to try it even more. So we waited and it was worth the wait! Next time we will... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
