One of the best Ramen I have ever had!

Ippudo is just around the corner from the place I used to work. I went there after reading very good recensions. It was a friday night so I had to wait almost 30 minutes before being seated. The tables are shared as the oriental tradition wants. The service is very fast and they sometimes shout... read more

Most Americans don't think much beyond sushi when thinking "Japanese food," but ramen is thankfully getting the attention it deserves. Ippudo is some of the best ramen in NY and offers a variety of different ramen styles (sort of a Japanese version of different types of pasta sauces). The broth is rich and meaty, the meats are succulent, and the... More

It was my first time eating at Ippudo NY (I've previously eaten at their Shanghai restaurant) and I have to say that I'm very impressed. The appetizers were very delicious and the ramen is also very tasty. The waiters were very attentive, helping us change plates periodically, and the food came relatively quick. The wait to get seated was a... More

This is a place I visit every time I'm in NYC. I love noodles and they serve some of the best. BUT not to be left out, You must get the flash fried shishito peppers! They are very addictive and tasty. Sometimes the wait to get in can be a little long, but the atmosphere and food are completely worth... More

Communal tables add to the atmosphere here. We had to wait for a while, so we had a few drinks at the bar. The staff are upbeat and helpful when it comes to explaining the different options. I had the spicy ramen which was stunning, my friend had the vegetarian option, which also looked delicious.

Very traditional Japanese atmosphere, appetizers are amazing, ramen is even more amazing. Very nice waiters, fast service, but a little on the expensive side.

Delicious ramen, the best I've tried so far. Beautiful ambience, attentive service personnel and the food... Just wanted to keep on going back for more! Went the first time on February with my husband, then when we visit NY again on October I had to bring my friends... It was so worth it, just how I remembered or even better!

After skipping out on NoodleBar, we headed over here for a late night dinner b/c the wait was (slightly) shorter. During our wait we hung out by the bar where an excellent (and speedy) bartender manned the whole room. Bonus- you can order apps to the bar, but I'd personally save the food for the table experience to prolong it... More

This was an amazing experience all around. I had searched the web for a restaurant for before the theater and found this on one of the lists. Since we were planning so late, I needed a place that didn't take reservations. We arrived at 5:07 (they open at 5) and were able to get a table by 5:50 p.m. (the... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
