Worth A Try!!!

While we were in New York, we did a food walking tour and this was one of our stops. Having been to NY 20+ times, we never even knew about it. If you go, definitely try their specialty, the Artichoke Pizza. It's like having artichoke and spinach dip on top of a thick-crusted slice of bread. They... read more

Excelent pizzas, too big (one is Ok for 4 people). Very good, good wines. If you are alone or two people, ask for pizzas in slices, it's better.

We ended up here, frankly, because my husband was "hangry". We had reservations elsewhere, but he was in NO mood to wait. We just happened to be a block from Artichoke, so decision made!! That being said, it was a great choice. We ordered the margarita pie and were served the biggest pizza I've ever seen!! We were a little... More

We came here hoping to have some amazing artichoke pizza but it was all creamy with only essence of artichoke. I hoped for something along the tines of chunky artichoke pieces like a good dip would have. The dough is thick enough to support that. The margherita slice is very good but still too saucy. You're better off saving $4... More

Love this pizza! I dream about it all the way from Australia! Tried lots of pizza in this great city but Artichoke's is an absolute stand out! And on of our first stops whenever we are in New York! The Crab Pizza in unreal! Actually so is the artichoke slice and margarita! Go and get some! You won't regret it!

Some of the best pizza we had, no seating if you order single slices though. Definitely worth it if you need a quick eat! We all ate the artichoke pizza, which used an Alfredo sauce instead of a tomato one. Huge slices, quick service. Only down side was having to stand out front

Our tour bus guide highly recommended Artichoke Pizza during our tour and I'm glad she did! We are from Chicago and my husband owns and runs pizzerias. We know pizza and Artichoke Pizza is excellent! Excellent! We ordered the margarita, pepperoni, and artichoke pizzas. The red sauce was tomatoey, balanced and tangy. The white sauce was rich and unctuous. The... More

A small place near 14th and 1st ave, this is an absolute must go place for pizza lovers. The artichoke and crab pizzas are to die for. They are not like your typical Neapolitan pie but once you taste them, you'll never want one of those other ones again! Just remember cash only.

I was impressed with the reviews in TA and elsewhere and went for lunch in Artichoke Pizza. Ordered a slice of Artichoke Pizza and slice of Crab Pizza, neither tasted any good. I one of the worst things I've had in NYC, and I honestly can't understand the hype around this one.

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
