Great Pizza in NY

As tourists we were looking for some great pizza, and were recommended Artichoke. It was really great. The location is small but feels very authentic and in a fun neighborhood. We tried the Artichoke pizza and margarita and would suggest both!

I had (only) one slice of margerita which was out of this world. Definitely the most delicious slice of my life, I would wholeheartedly give this place 5 stars hadn't I found the artichoke slice my partner went for a tad disappointing. I only had a bite from his but it was enough to tell 1. that the margerita one... More

We were wandering around Greenwich village when my daughter decided she wanted me to taste an artichoke pizza which is their specialty. It was interesting in the sense it's like a creamy baked artichoke on a pizza pie. It was tasty but I really liked their pepperoni pizza slice. The staff was very friendly and humorous. It was a busy... More

really friendly staff, good food and beer, we loved the relaxed atmosphere. Good music and plenty of space for a sit down and a chat with friends

I'd rate this place higher if there weren't better places on the same block. The artichoke pizza tastes like chicken noodle soup on a crust. Not ideal but bearable.

We went on a food tour several weeks ago and tasted their margarita pie. It was great, the crust is nice and crispy and they serve a nice large slice. It's a smaill place, most people take their pizza to go, but there are two counters with stools, if you want to sit down. So while in the City again,... More

Visited this restaurant as part of a walking tour through Greenwich. OMG the signature pizza is to die for. Rich and creamy, words can not describe. I still dream about it. Wish I'd eaten more when i was there .

The signature artichoke pizza is so so good and unlike any slice of pizza I've ever had! A definite must stop if your looking for a good slice.

We went to Artichoke during our Food On Foot tour and (being italian and owning ourself a pizzeria in italy) we were astonished by it! obviously NY's pizza is totally different from the Italian one but we were so impressed by it that we had to go back another day to eat it again! it was soo good!! I had half a slice as part of a tour provided by Free Tours by Foot, when our tour guide was explaining the signature pizza I was weary as it sounded like it would be salty. How wrong was I? It was really nice but I don't think I would have done more than two slices as it is a... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
