Reasonable priced good food in New York City

We were at Chelsea Market and wanted to eat there but it was so busy we decided to look around outside and after a short walk we found Artichoke Pizza. The prices were good and the food too. We decided on a 3 slice plate, trying the Pepperoni, Staten Island (I think it was called) and the Crab... read more

Recommended this place by a friend who visited New York and was not let down. Brilliant place to sit and eat a slice of pizza while taking a break from exploring New York. Warning to fellow Brits, 1 slice would be enough!

Pizza was so fresh tasting & yummy. Sauce had the best tomato flavor and crust that was the perfect thickness.

Thank you, dear pizza gods, for blessing us with the cheesiest miracle of them all - Artichoke Pizza. If a bread factory situated near an artichoke field exploded from a cheese bomb while global warming reached an all time high it would be Artichoke Pizza. This incredible creation has prevented my hangover and prevented me from ever fitting into my... More

All my NJ friends said I had to try the vodka pizza, I did and it was good. Plenty of sauce and cheese. No service to speak of and not a single employee had any interest in directing us in where or how to order. But I went there for the pizza not the service. So did the pizza we... More

Being Italian I usually do not eat Pizza elsewhere but I tried Artichoke Pizza during a Food On Foot Tour and I was extremely positively impressed! The Pizza is incredibly good, thick dough and rich in ingredients on top, only few pizza options available! definitely try the one with artichoke and cream... OMG! just amazing!

The pizza here is amazing, of course especially the artichoke pizza. I give this place an average rating because they really do need to clean their dishes better. My wine glass, silverware and dish was dirty. I guess this is why the restaurant only has a B grade. I would suggest take out.

We ordered pizza for all my daughters room mates while we were moving her into a new apartment. Around an hour delivery time but the pizza arrived hot. The girls loved the pizza. I thought it was good. Really sloppy. But that is what hey lived. Make sure and have napkins handy.

Please note, this place is cash only, as stated on the menu. We have walked past this place several times without ever stopping in, but it always appeared really popular. Well, today we checked it out, and I can't say I get what all the hype is about. First of all, the service was non-existent. No welcome, or hello, etc.... More

Ate at the Laguardia Airport location. Great pizza. Don't miss the artichoke pizza. Hard to describe but excellent. Great meal.

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
