Live 'intimate' jazz.

What a great find so close to the husstle and bustle, a really nice small bar, with a really good atmosphere. A live 3 piece jazz band playing some chilled music, great listening to with a large rum in your hand.great visit.

We visited the Rum House a couple of times. My wife asked for a suggestion from the bar tender on what he made well and was told "It's the Rum House, order something with rum" but not a specific suggestion as she was really looking for his "signature" drink. We also visited another night with some live jazz and the... More

I believe this place has been in the Edison Hotel forever, and I remember going there occasionally for the last 15 years or so. It was a great slice of old NY. Not so any more, it's been bought and sanitized. Surly service, high prices and once the band starts, if you want to have a conversation, fuggedaboudit. Another slice... More

It's just an average pub. Expensive. Nothing like it looks on the website. Friendly staff though. We only ever had one drink while waiting to go on somewhere else.

Good drinks and great service. The ambiance was charming and much though was out into customer satisfaction.

A classic Manhattan bar that specializes in crafty and well made and fussed over rum drinks. Each one was a new experience in flavor. The Bartender, Gabriel, was very helpful. During the day we were the only ones in there, come five oclock it was a lively old place

It's a really great place absolutely authentic. Especially if you come after a Broadway show you can enjoy great cocktails. We have been twice. It's pricy maybe little overrated but we thought it's worth the money.

We loved this bar! The bartenders were great and so were the servers. Sit at the bar and talk to others, it was a very friendly atmosphere. GREAT DRINKS!

Popped in here with friends from the city who are regulars. My first New York bar experience and it didn't disappoint - live music from a piano-saxophone-percussion trio, good cocktails and a warm atmosphere.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
