Hi all Just ah wee heads up went into the rum house in the Edison hotel last night for a nightcap and there was group strangling a cat. I suppose it's a jaz thing but it was really painful on the ears and we didn't get our drink there was a barman doing an oscar winning performance of making a... More

After our long drive from Ohio to celebrate my 40th birthday, we checked into The Edison Hotel & discovered this little gem on ground level of the hotel, and is also accessible from the street. Located maybe 40 steps from Times Square center. It was dark & quiet the night/morning we got there at around 1am. The selection of drinks... More

If you are looking for a jazz/blues night after hours - that's the place. We were recommended of the Rum House by the concierge at the hotel, and it didn't disappoint. Great drinks (The Rusty Nail) and the music was awesome. We literally sat in front of the band - that was great.

Found this bar on a list of recommended and we dropped in after our show. Full bar that offered many fine selections of all types of liquors. Four piece live jazz band was playing. Some dancing. But not too loud - offering room for private conversation.

It might not look like much - it has a leather lounge look about it - but the cocktails are excellent. Good place for pre theatre drinks near Broadway and the nibbles are not bad too. Try the uptown for a fresh summery berry cocktail.

We were staying at the Edison Hotel and stopped in after a theater performance. What a great time! There was a fantastic jazz trio and even though the area was small, a few people were dancing. Great music.

Tiny bar in the Hotel Edison that had live music every night when we were there. It has a cute atmosphere, the drinks were adequate. The warm pretzel was delicious.

The Rum House is a little jazz club adjoining the Edison hotel in Midtown NYC. It's unpretentious-did not seem "touristy" to me. The bar specializes in a variety of rum concoctions, each better than the last. I enjoyed the Tortuga, but the Hemmingway Daiquiri was out of this world! The service was outstanding. We had a knowledgeable and friendly waitress... More

The Rum House is part of the Edison hotel. It's what it say on the tin - great rum cocktails. Only downstide was the heat inside - the air con unit was too powerful to sit in front of and if you strayed away from it then the place was just too hot and sticky.

The Rum House offers great jazz every night of the week. No cover charge! I heard a couple of the best live jazz bands I've ever heard among the nights that I went.
