We were staying at the Library Hotel (upstairs form here) so it felt like a cop out to just come down in the lift and eat here. But we were pleasantly surprised. Madison and Vine served us some of the best food of our trip - so much so that we came back another night.

Chopped salad, just the right amount of dressing, tons of chicken!! Great place to people watch! Excellent service. Great location, and we lucked into an outside table.

Brent (I believe that was his name) was a great mixologist and lovely to talk to. We only drank so cannot comment on the food, but the cocktails were fab!

Having lunch at Madison & Vine we felt like real New Yorkers. The food and service was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and the place has a real vibrancy about it with a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We loved it so much that we spent 2 of our 5 precious days eating there.

Last day in NYC and this was a great way to sign off. Even on an early Sunday evening still great atmosphere. Vine burger recommended.

Two dinners and a Sunday brunch while staying at the Library Hotel. Good food and service. Dinner can be a little noisy especially if the music is not to your taste. Difficult in New York (unless you have really researched it) to find a compromise between diner menus and top end restaurants/steakhouses. The Madison and Vine (although not cheap) because... More

My wife and I visited Madison and Vine for a brief refreshment and cannot agree which was worse. She thinks it was the burnt coffee and I think it was the almost non-existent service. On the other hand I didn't try the coffee, so she might be right.

We went there for late lunch where we had steamed asparagus with goat cheese and a homemade hollandaise as a appetizer. As an entree, we had a lamb sandwich. This was so lovely cooked, and tasted amazing! At another evening we had salmon on mashed basil potatoes with basil and a black olive tarpanade, furthermore we had their macaroni au... More

We have walked past this restaurant many times before, but never gone in it. Today we tried it for lunch. It was packed and very noisy. We were able to sit at the bar. I had the lamb sandwich with fries and it was very tasty. The fries were delicious. There were several things on the menu that looked good.... More
