This was my first visit here for dinner. My companion & I were wandering the streets looking for an early pre-theater dinner and came across Karahi. It was around 6 on a Saturday night so it wasn't very crowded yet (nice!). Very solid, traditional Indian dishes (Tikka Masala, etc). One down side was the veggie samosa appetizer. While large and... This was my first visit to Karahi and I was pleased with my experience. Prices were reasonable. The small restaurant is decorated minimally. The metal water glasses and serving dishes were a nice touch. The tables are a bit tightly situated, but the acoustics are such that you don't feel like you're hearing your neighbors' conversation and vice versa. The... More

My preferred place for consistently great indian food in NYC. Lunch specials include generous naan portions. Chicken tikka masala, or lamb rogan josh always great. The service is attentive, prices reasonable.

I was here last friday night during the start of the blizzard for dinner. The atmosphere was great, and the food was very delicious. Also, the portions were very generous. I had the palak paneer and a glass of wine. The location is also great: right in the heart of the West Village on a bustling street, right across from... More

Three of us popped in for a quick bite. The service was good and the food arrived quickly. We had lamb tandoori and chicken coriander, nan bread coupled with a yoghurt dish and rice. The food was more than adequate and filling. the aromas were pleasant. The background music was a nice touch. The restroom was unisex and i would... More

It seemed like a decent looking place, but this was the worst Indian food experience in all New York City. The food is bland and a sheer insult to Indian cuisine. Agreed that good doesn’t have to be always authentic, but the food here is simply terrible. The spices weren't properly minced and the aroma of all the food was... More

This is a neighbourhood restaurant which is worth seeking out if you're in Soho. We shared two starters for three of us - speedily served and very tasty. My lamb biriani was excellent - my co-eaters also enjoyed their food, rogan gosht and chicken jalfrezi. Although we were the first people into the restaurant, it soon filled up and the... More

I love this place. The food is so delicious, the service is great and fast for the lunchtime crowd and the lunch specials are worth stopping by for. I recently went with a few colleagues and they were thrilled. Special to note is that one friend reluctantly joined us because she is not too keen on Indian food but I... More

Great place in Grenwhich Village, funky vibes, excellent value. Tourists don't come here, locals come here. We ate genourously (starter, 2 mains and drinks) for two for $55 including tax and tip. Can't say much more really, except you won't regret coming here!
